The comment regarded how far SJU has fallen. Not the actual point spread.

Would have thought that was obvious. Guess not.

SJU was 23.5 underdog at XU as San posted and covered easily. They were 15.5 underdog at GU on Monday, but lost by 25. We know what the state of their team is by now, but they do still play hard. This is what they have after stringing Lavin along and going in the direction with Mullin. DePaul did not win a game until the BET under Jerry Wainwright one year.

SJU at one time was one of the best college BB programs in the country. They along with Georgetown and eventually Syracuse were the pillars of the newly formed Big East.

Who would have ever believed regardless of any circumstance that they would have fallen to the depths that they have fallen?

No one could have ever imagined when SJU was the talk of college BB when Mullin and Ewing staged their epic battles in the Garden and the national stage that they would ever be in this position.

If Lavin stayed would they have been this bad?
Probably. Their whole team was graduating, Rysheed Jordan stopped going to class, so he was through. Perhaps Obekpa would have come back, but it wouldn't have mattered much at this point. They have and will be getting some more talent. Need to take a little jump next year. Shouldn't be hard to do based on how bad this year has gone.

Mullin has been a joke. Slice does most of the coaching from what I've seen.

This fascination with hiring unproven or mediocre NBA guys is bizarre. I guess they see that it worked at Iowa St. so it must work at their school.
