Had a blurb about each team and what they added and bring back.

No suprise has St Johns and UConn on top as Favorites.

Creighton as a Contender.

Providence and Marquette as Darkhorses.

Nova, GTown, Butler and Xavier in his Everything has to go Right tier.

Then DePaul and the Pirates in his Nowhere near Ready group although he's positive on DePaul with 3 returning starters and says they could be over .500 for first time since 2019. Not so complimentary of SH.....

The Pirates finished in the Big East basement last year during a nightmarish seven-win campaign, and it’s not clear their roster has improved.

Losing leading scorer and rebounder Isaiah Coleman to Oklahoma State will sting.

The hope is that “up” transfers like Merrimack guard Adam “Budd” Clark, Fordham wing Joshua Rivera and Pacific guard Elijah Fisher can be part of a turnaround.

Expected. Nowhere to go but up. We may not like it but this is a two year process. Improvement this up coming season hopefully then climb to middle of the pack in ‘26-‘27.

Nope. Sha needs to show significant progress now. Screw that 2 year process BS. He’s already had 2 years of mediocrity & one year of complete failure.

If you believe that, SH alum Tony Soprano has some valuable swamp land in So. Jersey for sale. 😩

Rivera couldn't start at Fordham, his shooting splits are terrible and turns the ball over. But other than that, big piece of our team.

How could you put us anywhere else?

8 of our players come from teams that won 5 or less games in conference. Only 2 players were permanent starters on their teams last year.

So from a macro view we have an abundance of players that were bench players on bad teams. Many of which competed at a lower level than the BigEast.

I’m excited to see Budd Clark play and I think he could be really good, but top to bottom this roster is worse than last year.

Fair enough but does anyone expect anything much better this up coming season? SHU won’t be contending for anything but if Holloway can show some progress then there could be some hope that the ship can be somewhat righted in the following season imo. This modest hope is the ceiling for what this program can accom In the next two years. It could stay the same or go backwards(!) too.

Hazard Zet Backward may be the future SH motto and may also be adopted by all “college” teams except the P-4 pro teams. Bank on it.

This is budd's audition season, before he leaves after showing he can play at this level.

We didnt have the 6mil remember, now apparently we do so late now but i guess next season he has no excuses, just sucks to be so bad in 2 straight years but who knows what can happen some teams suprise

If we DO end up faring better than most anticipate it will likely be because Sha did the kind of job he did at St Peter's that final year there.

Personally I don't think we'll be anywhere close to that good, but I sure hope we aren't anywhere near as bad as last year.

Budd’s listed at 5’10. I would guess he’s actually around 5’8” or 5’9”. He does the majority of his work in the lane and around the rim. It’s not as easy to do that against high major bigs.

And that was a better roster than this that he had together for a few years (not happening anymore) in worse league. That team would beat this team handedly.

I have no idea. There was a lot that went wrong with last year's team beyond simply the talent too. But idk what we're trying to do, emulate the type of team he built at St. Peter's??? Just load up with players?

I think it was overwhelmingly about the lack of talent. But I'd like to hear your take on the other stuff that went wrong. To me, the two principal non-talent related things that went wrong were Zion Harmon situation and the Chauncey Jenkins injury. Both hurt the team considerably. What else in your estimation --other than poor talent-- went wrong?

I applaud your optimism, but tell me why you thing this will be so.

Our “defensive coach” didn’t get that team to play defense, by and large.

Also, I can’t buy the Harmon situation as impacting anything. We have no clue how he would have looked or played in the Big East.

Jenkins hurt to a degree for sure, but on balance I don’t know to what extent that impacted wins and losses. Maybe another one here or there, but consider that our two wins were basically miraculous and how often we were absolutely blown out.

We are the worst team in the league on paper by a good bit. Last season was a disaster and this offseason was somehow worse. A shame and I wonder what the stands will look like if we finish last again.

That’s why I said hopefully. Guess you missed my later post where I said some improvement by 26/27 is the ceiling for this program and that it could be worse.

Every single reputable(and even non reputable)sports writer/outlet should absolutely be picking Seton Hall last. Money available or not, we didn’t even make a single modest splash in the portal and, once again, lost our best player. I’m not so sure there’s no where to go but up. As hard as it is to imagine, we can certainly stink more than we did last season. In the same way that Florida are the champs until they’re not, we’re last until we prove we’re not. Based on our personnel moves, I’m not sure we’ll be proving much of anything this season.

Here's how I see it right now, the Big East is not very impressive to me:

Tier 1
St. John's
Creighton
Connecticut

Tier 2
Marquette
Georgetown

Tier 3
Providence
Butler
DePaul
Villanova
Xavier
Seton Hall

Seton Hall can certainly win more than 2 conference games although still pretty bad.

If this were true would, and the narrative that recruiting doesn’t matter anymore is also true, why wouldn’t the best recruits and best players in the portal be flocking to the BigEast? They’re not.
right. we supposedly have $3m and our team is dog shit. you can do the math too. the floor seems to be $200k for an end of bench guy.

Time will tell us the answers. So, looks like the diehards are trying to muster up some positive energy for next season. We may be better against the smaller schools. Without adding height its going to be difficult. Plus, there is no depth upfront so far. Keeping all these guards happy could be challenge too. Maybe 5 or 6 more wins collectively?
