It’s him doing what he should be doing for the league as a coach of his stature. Even while there are credible arguments as to why the league only got 3, and the 3 bubble teams (including his own) have no one ultimately to blame but themselves, it is sticking up for the conference because only getting 3 bids compared to others seems wrong. He could only have referenced SJU, but chose to publicize a broader point for next year and beyond. All the Pitino-haters here should be applauding him for this and specifically backing Sha.

The one silver lining to these snubs is I do believe the Big East coaches and AD’s will take a more collective approach in promoting and defending the conference. Now we need a commissioner who isn’t terrified of stepping on some toes, and will fight for the respect this conference has earned.
