Seton Hall All-Time vs. the Bearcats: Seton Hall leads, 5-4
Last Meeting:
Seton Hall 60, Cincinnati 55 (F) – March 8, 2013 (XL Center)

AGAINST CINCINNATI
Seton Hall and Cincinnati haven't met since the Bearcats left the BIG EAST Conference. The Hall owns a slim 5-4 all-time series lead and has won three of the last four games. Their last meeting was a Pirates' 60-55 victory in the 2013 BIG EAST Tournament.

SCOUTING CINCINNATI
Cincinnati is coming off a 14-18 season a year ago, which included a 5-13 mark in Big 12 play. The Bearcats defeated UCF in the opening round of the Big 12 Tournament, but fell in the second round to West Virginia. Cincinnati was selected to participate in the WNIT, but lost in the first round to Purdue Fort Wayne. The 14 wins were the team's most since 2019 and marked a five-win improvement from the prior season.

This year, the Bearcats were picked to finish 13th in the 16-team league according to the preseason coaches' poll. Mancini was named a Preseason All-Conference selection. Cincinnati brings back nine letterwinners, including four starters. Key returners include three of the top four scorers from last season: Jillian Hayes (12.9 ppg), A'riel Jackson (9.4 ppg) and Reagan Jackson (8.2 ppg).

The Bearcats welcome four newcomers to the 2024-25 roster: Tineya Hylton (senior, transfer from Texas A&M), Daylee Dunn (fifth-year, transfer from Loyola Marymount), Alliance Ndiba (redshirt junior, transfer from Arizona Western), and freshman Chloe Mann from Fort Worth, Texas.

Cincinnati enters Monday's contest with a perfect 3-0 record having defeated UIC, Delaware State, and most recently, Davidson, 68-50, on Wednesday. The Bearcats are holding their opponents to just 50.0 points per game and are shooting .435 from the field. Hayes is off to a strong start to her season, averaging a team-best 20.3 points to go with 9.7 rebounds per contest.

UP NEXT
Seton Hall will return to action on Thursday, November 21 when it returns to historic Walsh Gymnasium to host local non-conference rival Princeton. Tip time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The contest will be streamed live by the Pirate Sports Network and available for FloCollege subscribers. 89.5 FM WSOU or wsou.net will also carry the game.

The Fab 5

I know those 3 questions for you might difficult so I'll go more fundamental and basic for you TwitterGuy. Let's make the assumption that Coke and Mickey D's are not healthy for you. I think we can agree on that. Why haven't the qualified professionals here in America done something? They've done things in plenty of other countries where they don't allow Mickey D's to use the same ingredients and they force coke not to use high fructose corn syrup. Why have all of our qualified professionals not solved this and a guy, who you would probably call a kook like me, in RFK Jr. willing to call attention to it?

Will Democrats Be Sucessful in Stealing PA Senate Seat

Casey is in desperation mode. Two weeks later and still unresolved. Really pathetic.

The timeline isn't Casey's fault.

It took McCormick 3 weeks to concede his primary against Oz in 22 because of the state mandated recount.
Not much different here. Mandated recount plus they need to consider the provisional ballots.

If a voter was removed from a voter roll in error or they moved to a different town in PA but didn't change registration for example, they get a provisional ballot. The state needs to work through which of those should be counted or not.

McCormick will still likely win by a fair number of votes, but the votes should be counted before they declare a winner if it's within a threshold where Casey could still win once all the votes are actually counted.

Are multi team tournaments coming to an end?

Sad., many of these used to also be about the educational experiences, like the Armed Forces Classic or Pearl Harbor Invitational.

UCONN AD is what's wrong with college athletics.
True...and it was about the opportunity itself...how many of these players would get to Alaska? Hawaii? etc?

But now....meh, just give me the green...

The Giants - New Low. Approaching Howard Beale Status

Man, these evaluations… whew. Imagine you’re Joe Schoen explaining these things? LMAO. We knew they’d have this out if Jones didn’t keep getting better but who again were they bidding against on the contract??? Then you go out and throw $5M out the window on Lock?

Only the Giants could bench one of the worst QB’s in the league that they gave too many opportunities over 6 seasons instead of cutting bait and somehow take on more criticism. 🤣🤣💀

Are multi team tournaments coming to an end?

While I get it, the travel costs have zero to do with this; up until NIL it was perfectly fine....and in fact highly valued to travel to Hawaii, Alaska, Bahamas, and anywhere else for that matter; now with NIL options all of a sudden "oh those are too costly"....until of course those events start offering NIL money, then it will be "sure, those are great tournaments with a wonderful history"

Just say it: we will not spend money on a tournament unless said tournament offers us a substantial NIL opportunity. if they do, then you can hold it on the moon for all we care...we'll go.
As you guys know, well, cash is really hard to come by if you're not a P4 team. In fact, everyone is chasing the P2 teams. While, in the past, athletic departments may have been willing to eat these expenses for the exposure the tournaments offered, that excess money is becoming harder and harder to come by.

Are multi team tournaments coming to an end?

I'd actually like to see the structure of them completely revamped to effectively make them NCAA tournament qualifiers to replace a bunch of at-large bids. All eligible teams are assigned to an MTE from a draw process and each tournament champion gets an auto bid. If someone double qualifies via MTE and conference tournament, that conference's auto bid goes to the highest team in its regular season standings that isn't already qualified.

Time to cut Dylan Addae-Wusu some slack.

There isn't anyone who would be critical of his hustle and effort. He is undersized to play forward, doesn't shoot well enough to be the shooting guard, and does not handle the ball well enough to be the point guard. That being said he is on the roster and can play a role. It is up to Sha to make the best use of him so he can contribute until someone else forces Sha to move him to the bench where he can be the 6th man etc..
And yet, Dylan is asked to be all of the things you describe.

Why? Because he has the ability to do so. He's not tremendous at any one thing but he's versatile and effective at many. It's a valuable piece to have a player fill multiple roles depending on the need and situation.

Are multi team tournaments coming to an end?

The Connecticut athletic Director thinks so.

Not sure if you guys are going to get paywalled on that site. if you do and are curious about the article, let me know and I'll see if I can find a workaround.

In essence, A.D. Benedict says that financial pressures on teams make flying across the country to a tournament in which you don't have any participating profit rights far or less attractive. Benedict and Hurley would rather do things like the coaches classic at MSG where travel costs are more manageable, the games are more accessible to fans, and there are opportunities for the teams to profit as well.

Thinking about that, that may be a step back towards regional basketball, which would be a good thing, in my opinion.
