I am absolutely baffled that the Chairman of our Board and the President have yet to step down. Their continued presence is inexcusable.
Having handled cases involving sexual assault at major institutions, I have direct experience with how organizations navigate these crises. I’ve worked on:
- 8,000 clergy abuse cases
- 2,000 Mormon Church cases
- 40 Larry Nassar cases (Michigan State)
- 25 Dr. Anderson cases (University of Michigan)
- 3,000 Boy Scout cases
With the exception of the clergy, nearly every institution above acted more decisively in severing ties with individuals connected to these scandals. The failure to do so here is not just shortsighted—it’s outright negligent. How are we still in this position?
In an era where institutional accountability is paramount, their collective failure to act swiftly and decisively is beyond negligent—it is outright disgusting. They have not only failed the university, but they have actively endangered its reputation, its students, and its future.
