Yankees sold out

One who, among other things, hired a private investigator to get dirt on one of his own players to try to negate a contract.

Steinbrenner was only as good as CBS was bad at owning the Yankees.

That and Charlie Finley’s insistence on free agency that gave Steinbrenner the keys to buy his players.
George was a paradox. A legend in many ways for sure. A totally undisciplined and madly impatient person who wanted to showcase that he was dominating and militaristic, yet operated anything but. He was belligerent but also one who also invested money into the team with a desire to win. He berated and undermined employees constantly, yet was also generous to the pubic and straightforward, accessible in the media. A lot of people who reach a level of success have these polarizing personalities. Similarly to Bobby Knight and many others of those generations with similar personalities.

The run they went on from 1996 to 2001 that elevated his entire legacy thanks to the 4 championships was built while he was suspended and really operated after he had lost a bit off his fastball and mellowed A LOT. Plus those guys knew how to "handle" George at that stage far better than decades before. Some of the stories are hilarious in what they did to circumvent.

First look at the brand new Seton Hall Basketball Performance Center‼️

It will be interesting to see who from the administration will be there and whether they will interact with the visitors.
If I were running the show for this it would be organized in a way where those in charge say a few words first. That messaging obviously touts the facility and all you'd expect, but also be real with what's happened this year, acknowledge something, and reiterate the future. It's a good forum to do that as this building needs to represent a fresh start.

People have donated to this. The program gave everyone our worst season in 40 years and completely broke the run we had the past decade while making us a laughingstock on multiple levels in the process. It's ridiculous.
