A very brief stay in this tournament by Quick Rick, who coached an uncharacteristically bad game. He’s got two no-names in the last five minutes with Luis glued to the bench, the conference player of the year. And not feeding Ejiofor in the post is malpractice. Also, Daivon Smith sucks. St. John’s was going to win until that kid who used to play here fouled out (on a total non-foul).

Of course they are going to get enormous coverage locally and nationally when they won as many games as they did, won the league outright for the first time in forever, won the BET for the first time. All that exposure comes with the territory.

Screw it, though. I’m happy to see that team go down in flames and utter devastating disappointment. Fitting Richmond had to watch from the bench at the end(though I do admit his fifth foul was BS). The kid got paid, but it didn’t mean jack in March.

St Johns ran into a team that could match them from a talent POV and I feel they got gun-shy by Arkansas' shot blockers. But the biggest factor was Kadary didn't play well and eventually fouled out.
