Times & TV Released for 2024-25 Seton Hall Women's Basketball

NEW YORK - The BIG EAST Conference announced times and television designations for the 2024-25 women's basketball season today. Including its non-conference games, Seton Hall will have five games on national television and two additional on SNY. All other BIG EAST contests will again be available for FloSports subscribers via the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN).

Season tickets for all 17 women's basketball games at Walsh Gymnasium are only $75 and are on sale now! They can be purchased by calling the Seton Hall Ticket Office at 973-275-HALL (4255) or by emailing tickets@shu.edu. Reminder – tickets for Seton Hall students are FREE!!

For the 10th straight year, the BIG EAST Digital Network presented by Invesco QQQ will stream every conference game not designated for television. FloSports, the home of BEDN, will also house all school-produced games as more than 120 total women's basketball contests will stream on the platform. FloSports offers both monthly and annual subscriptions, and as part of the expanded agreement, BIG EAST member institution student and faculty discounts will be made available. Additional content on BEDN on YouTube includes "In The Bonus," the Conference's weekly women's basketball feature series.

For the second consecutive season, the BIG EAST will play an 18-game conference schedule. Schools will play eight opponents twice and two opponents once. The adjustment to an unbalanced schedule provides greater flexibility in scheduling non-conference opponents.

The 2025 BIG EAST Women's Basketball Tournament Presented by JEEP returns to Mohegan Sun Arena for a fifth straight year. FS1 and FS2 will air the quarterfinal, semifinal and championship games of the tournament. Quarterfinal coverage on March 8 begins on FS1 at noon ET, before FS2 takes over for the 2:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. games. FS1 picks up the remainder of the tournament, with the semifinals on March 9 slated for 2:30 and 5 p.m. The championship game is set to tip off at 7 p.m. on March 10. FloSports will televise the trio of first-round games on March 7.

No. 15 Pirates Face Marquette in Home BIG EAST Matchup

South Orange, N.J. - The No. 15 ranked Seton Hall men's soccer looks to claim its first win in BIG EAST play when Marquette visits Owen T. Carroll Field on Friday. Game time is scheduled for 6:56 p.m.

This is the 19th all-time meeting between the two teams, the most recent of which being a 3-2 Seton Hall win at Valley Fields in 2022.

SCOUTING MARQUETTE
  • Marquette is 6-3-1 on the season with a 2-0-0 record in the BIG EAST.
  • Two of the Golden Eagles' three losses came against ranked opponents.
    • A 2-1 defeat at No. 22 Wisconsin on September 2.
    • A 1-0 loss at the hands of No. 9 Northwestern on September 9.
  • Their leading scorer is junior midfielder Mitar Mitrović. Mitar, the son of USMNT U-23 Head Coach Marko Mitrović, has tallied five goals and one assist this season.
  • Marquette's goalkeeper Marten Brink has started nine of the team's ten games. He has allowed eight goals, registered 37 saves and faced 106 shots this season.
SERIES HISTORY
  • Seton Hall and Marquette last met on October 12, 2022, in what would be a back-and-forth match. The first half opened with Marquette's Edrey Caceres scoring first in the 8th minute from the top of the box. However, The Hall's Mattias Almeida Sundell responded in the 28th minute, securing a 1-1 scoreline heading into halftime. In the second half, Paavo Riihjarvi put the Pirates back in front with a 56th minute goal off of a Johannes Pex assist. The Golden Eagles went on to level the match in the 64th minute, but a 74th minute goal from Quenzi Huerman secured a 3-2 victory for the Pirates.
  • This is the 19th matchup between the two programs, the first of which came in 2005.
  • Seton Hall is 8-7-3 all-time against Marquette with a 4-1-0 record in their last five meetings.
PIRATES FIGHT TO SCORELESS DRAW AGAINST NO. 24 UCONN
  • On Saturday, Seton Hall traveled to Storrs, Connecticut, to face No. 24 UConn in the Pirates' second game of BIG EAST play. The Pirates drew the match 0-0.
  • Seton Hall goalkeeper Matias Molina registered his third clean sheet of the season.
  • The Pirates registered their fifth shutout of the season.
  • The Hall had 10 total shots, compared to four for the Huskies.
  • The Pirates registered 11 corner kicks, compared to three for the Huskies.
  • Seton Hall is now 16-15-5 all-time against UConn.
PIRATES RANKED INSIDE TOP 15
  • Seton Hall is ranked No. 15 in the nation in the Oct. 1 United Soccer Coaches top-25, holding their ranking from the prior week.
  • In Head Coach Andreas Lindberg's tenure, Seton Hall appeared in the United Soccer Coaches top-25 seven times during the 2020 season, reaching as high as No. 6. Then Seton Hall spent four weeks in the national rankings during 2021.
  • The Pirates are one of two BIG EAST teams in the current top-25, the other being No. 21 Providence.
GUSKE CLAIMS BIG EAST WEEKLY AWARD
  • After playing a key role on a Pirate backline that held both opponents scoreless last week, junior Liam Guske (St. John's, Fla.) earned this week's BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week award.
  • Guske is the seventh Seton Hall men's soccer member to be honored by the conference this season.

  • Seton Hall has showcased outstanding offensive prowess across the entire roster this season:
    • 11 different players have scored a goal.
    • Nine different players have assisted on a goal.
    • Six different players have registered at least two goals and/or assists.

  • The Hall has outshot their opponents in eight of their nine matches this season.
