not unless your winning and now winning =money and money =s donors/sponsors so you are correct not all on Sha but on leadership addressing the glaring weakness: the need for a savied ,experienced asset gather and development team to be in front of HNW alumni. It doesn't have to be a one off Kurtz or Repole.
no but this is the proverbial bridge to sell people and good luck convincing multiple people of that.

while the roster is def shas fault, this idea of a new roster every year on SHU budget isn't going to get ANYONE to the rock. its the new world of college basketball. we were given a death sentence 3 years ago. the time is up now.

This was always the risk of being cautious this offseason. The Pru is going to be completely empty next year. Maybe with Coleman and one or two high priced, recognizable stars to join him, some fans would have stayed on board for another year. Moot point, now.

Either have to lower the prices or just count on the UConn, Nova and SJU fans to pay our bill at the Rock.

I wonder if we can be on the receiving end of buy games.

I am in very similar "boat", I called am told SHU that I will not be renewing my tickets. I literally couldn't get someone to accompany me to games, towards the end of season, I was embarrassed to even ask!

For me the biggest example is Al Amir-Dawes. Over his last 14 games as a Pirate he began to play more within himself and take higher quality shots. During that stretch Dawes shot a blistering 46.7% from 3 on 6.5 attempts per game. To me this is a credit to Sha’s ability to coach, because we ALL were clamoring for Dawes to be sent to the bench in favor of younger talent development after watching his first year and half in Pirate blue.
Great it only took him 55 games to get through to Dawes. That’s not the world we live in anymore.

I have two seats and I have three friends that typically rotate through my second seat. Each made one game last year and two of them came to the Oklahoma State game.

That means I used my second ticket twice in 14 games which basically means I set $700 on fire.

This year my per seat surcharge more than doubled so I'm looking at an additional $600 for my pair. And I have to admit at I time when I should be enthusiastic, I'm anything but.

What don’t you get? It was a struggle this year to go to games. I share excellent seats with a friend and I hated going to games this year, and sometimes struggled to give tickets away. There are people with courtside seats who struggled to figure out 3 people to go to the game with. It felt like a chore at times this year.

Writing a check is one thing. It’s a single event, and if you have the money, fine. But the level of disinterest grew through this year. You think 2-3 more years and people will make the trek out to the games? They didn’t go this year, starting with the students. Feet on the floor seats were generally filled, but look just one row back. 2 rows back. Along the entire court opposite the benches, seats were empty.

And if we spend $12-15m on a team every 3-4 years like some of you suggest, we’re in the mix. There’s no guaranteed sweet 16 or better. So you get an injury to a superstar or they don’t click, it’s ok, wait another 3-4 years but keep giving, keep reaching for that rainbow.

Some of you people have no sense of reality.

Grading how every Big East team (and a few others) performed in 2024-25

You could have stopped at playing Assane Mbaye significant minutes.

sami......I don't think I said to give him anything but some playing time and see how he does. If Sha did that do you think given how the season turned out it would have had a negative impact? You think the record would be any worse if he at least gave him a shot? Even late in games where we were down bigly?

I don't think sitting a 7'2" kid when you stunk out the gym given the record and the stats in defensive and offensive categories made much sense. Even if he is a walk on it made NO sense.
Mbaye was brought here to redshirt his freshman year. The young man is new to the game and extremely raw and from all accounts isn't ready for the college game. We were not winning even one more game if he saw any minutes.

He's a lottery ticket at best but what makes no sense is to burn a year of eligibility for 40 or 50 minutes of garbage time when he might be a serviceable player in his fifth year.
