NJ GOP really going after the big issues

So instead of getting rid of them because we know they are bad, lets just throw them in the bin of stuff that isn't really going to be recycled so we can feel good about ourselves?

The public bought into recycling because they were sold lies about the effectiveness. Plastic doesn't really get recycled.

The who point of going after straws specifically was because no one really needs a straw (just drink from the cup) and it was to bring awareness to the idea that single use plastic is bad. That is directly from the groups pushing for the straw bans.
The public bought into recycling because putting something into one bin isn't changing their garbage experience. Nobody enjoys drinking from a paper straw. It makes no difference putting the garbage in this bin or the next bin for most people. For decades people had no issues drinking from a straw, now people have issues drinking with a straw. That's why people get pissed about it.

What are your suggestions with kid, older people, and handicap people who rely on straws if there's an all out ban of straws?

Jerry on the game

Not to mention our pace of play is excruciatingly painful to watch. If Sha thinks the snail’s pace gives us the best chance to win then he has to have them defending at the highest level. Since we’ve proven that we’re incapable of playing a lick of defense, he should just let them play ball. See what happens. Entertain us.

All that matters now is MSG next month. A new season. A wish and a hope. At this point, we’re just playing out the string, doing the same things over and over again.

Everytime you think we have a few pieces here for next year, you watch them play like this, and realize how awful this team is. The fact that this roster cost us $1.5M goes to show how insane the NIL is. These guys should be giving back their NIL money (or donating it to a charity).

I realize that it is no different in Pro Sports where terrible teams are paying guys millions. Nonetheless, it is just hard to accept that we are paying guys (for essentially the first time) and it is probably the worst team in SHU history. I have never seen a team that gets blown out so quickly. The Connecticut win was fun, but this has just been the most unenjoyable season ever. We are 2-13 with 9 losses by double digits and 7 by 15 plus. Just awful

No, we should make sure the stuff we are still recycling gets to where it should and actually gets recycled!

That's not the reason why it's not recycled. It's just not economically feasible to recycle the plastic that actually can be recycled (much of it cannot)

Aluminum actually can be recycled and the recycled material has value. Plastic does not.
We shipped it to China for nothing on returning cargo ships because they thought they could extract some value, then they stopped once it was not profitable for them to do so.

It should get recycled.

By who? and why would they do so at a loss?

It was dumb. Like Bloomberg banning large sodas.

Disagree. It's a small part of an inevitability.
Human's will move on from plastic at some point because we have to. It will take many small steps getting to that point.

Isaiah Coleman retains agency for NIL Representation

That’s only one reason to keep him. Again, portal players are inherently more risky. Look at AJ Storr. Crushed and Wiscy, sucks at Kansas. Myles Rice crushed at Wazzu, sucks at Indy. Maheney crushed at SMC, sucks at UConn. There’s dozens of more examples.

Coleman is a known commodity at SHU. That’s worth a lot to a budget constrained school that cannot afford to miss on their big spends.

If we learned one thing from this year is that you cannot let talent and production walk out the door. Zay is talented and productive. You do whatever you can to keep him and go from there. The other players that fit one of those two categories are Prince, Scotty, Felton and Godswill.

On another note and I may get laughed at for this, but I'd take another flyer on Yalden. He is basically playing his first season of college basketball who IIRC had illness at the beginning of the year that affected his conditioning. He looks like he has good fundamentals and plays hard, so I would get him with a trainer over the summer a strict diet and a regimen of HIIT/Weight training and see what happens.

Regardless of how you rate Coleman, bringing him back is an absolute must. For starters, he’s the bird in hand. We know for certain that he’s at worst a top 15 returning BE player who can excel under Shaheen. He has upside for more, but that’s his floor. We won’t find that level of certainty in the portal. He’s also someone the fans have developed an attachment to. He’s someone to root for.

Second, the school really needs to send a message that they are serious about playing big time basketball. They've failed miserably on that front two years in a row, to the point of being publicly mocked by the national media. If it happens again (and losing Coleman would be a terrible start), the Pru will be a ghost town next year. The fans will not stick around if they think it’s hopeless.
This.

And with better players he doesn't have to try and be all of our offense and he will play differently. This year is an anomaly and with better players he can let the game come to him and focus more on defense. We need to keep him and build around him with a shooter, another PG and Center.

It should get recycled. Maybe we should enforce legislation that exists.
