My intent was to just skim through the game. However, I ended up watching the entire game. First time I watched the game since 1989. You'll see glimpses of a young Tommy Amaker as an assistant coach on the Duke Bench.

Seems like yesterday. I was a SHU freshman watching at home (spring break) and after the slow start I had to find a different tv in the house to watch the game by myself. Maybe I should've watched the finals on that same lucky tv rather than back on campus. Might have been the difference. Perhaps our super sophomores can bring back a little magic.

that was probably one of the greatest SHU feel good games ever. Got killed in the 1st half only to reverse the tables and pull off what looked like a blow out win. I would love to watch that game in its entirety.

You would think some TV network or the NCAA would release some of these games for viewing, or maybe even make them available on Itunes/Netflix, etc..

Great. Thought it would be great memories and you have to mention Shamaker. Shame on you! lol

The old try a new seat routine...I know it well. It worked well under PJ, not so well under Blaney...lol

You can watch the entire game. Just hit the arrow in the video in my original post.

Two friends of mine, both BC guys, busted my balls seriously for the first 15 minutes. And I busted theirs for years to come. What a feeling that game was. I feared we were gonna lose by 50, then the turnabout...wow.

I was at both games with my wife Mary. And mass after the win with the team and the faithful fans. OMG what a weekend.

Great memories. My freshman year as well. Watched semi vs. duke from home and on campus for final. Campus was electric prior to championship game. Game vs. duke was an incredible turnaround. Totally dominant after the first 15 minutes.

Thanks, Batts! That was a great walk down memory lane!

I found this graphic near the end of the game telling:
1989 NCAA Tourney Games
SHU Opp. . . . . .Minutes tracked. . . .Opp. FG made . FGM/Min
SW Mo State . . . . .9:50 . . . . . . . . . . . . 2 . .. . . . . . . . . . 0.20
Evansville . . . . . . . 7:11 . . . . . . . . . . . . 1 . . . . . . . . . . . 0.14
Indiana . . . . . . . . . .8:00 . . . . . . . . . . . . 2 . . . . . . . . . . . 0.25
UNLV . . . . . . . . . . 10:02 . . . . . . . . . . . .3 . . . . . . . . . . . 0.30

and add

Duke . . . . . . . . . . . .9:38 . . . . . . . . . . . . 4 . . . . . . . . . . 0.42 (plus 1 at 0:02 vs. 3rd team)

What a DEFENSE!!!

FYI the 1989 Michigan final and the 2000 OK State games are also on YouTube.
