Complete shit show. I think Trump just lost more voters than Biden did. Both were terrible but Trump was untamed. My hope is whichever party wins the Presidency that the opposite party wins the Senate. Balance of power seems to be the best thing for our country IMO.

Term Limits. American people must agree to not allow any person more than 6 years in office. What you get are politicians who stand for nothing. This state of affairs is a direct result of money flowing behind the scenes with politicians who are around way too long. We the people allowed this to happen. We need to demand term limits. We wouldn’t have guys like Trump on the stage if guys like Biden were not around 47 years. I see Trump fightIng the political elite and its ugly .

My proposal would be the following amendments to the Constitution. Each position is limited to one single term:
President: Five year term (I'm fine with four years, but would add an extra as a concession for no re-election)
Representative: Four year term
Senator: Keep the six year term, but limited to one
This would return these positions to true public service. No more career politicians, only people who want to serve the country for a few years. I'd also propose a maximum age limit along with this for all elected public service positions: 70 years old. Your 70th birthday must be six months or less from the scheduled end of your term, otherwise you are ineligible to serve.
We also need major lobbying reform (I'd end it completely, but know that isn't realistic) and a serious look at ending the two party system (and it's funding).

Too late to have a third party candidate rise up (most never have a chance anyway because of the two party system), but I wouldn't object to anyone writing in as a protest.
Trump's strategy at the open was clearly to get under Biden's skin. It worked as Biden could only laugh and give that fake smile while offering nothing substantive. But Trump, after accomplishing his early goal, didn't stop. He flagrantly crossed the line and turned it into a disgrace.
I disagree. I don't think many people could have controlled that circus last night. Wallace is an unbiased newsman and did his best.
I am against term limits. people who are in Favor of term limits obviously do not trust the American voter with elections. Second, experience matters and you will lose dedicated, intelligent hard working professional people doing a difficult job replaced by a rotating roster of newbies who have no experience in the world stage. That is a recipe for disaster.

He seemed confused by what Wallace was even asking him. That was the part where I wish Biden would have "shut up, man," and let him denounce it or not. Wallace had to re-phrase and said "tell them to stand down." He then said "stand down and stand by." I watched 10 minutes of the wrap-up show with Stephanopoulos and one person on the panel and one commentator seemed to find what he said to be a denouncement. The whole thing was a fiasco and hard to watch. I'd look back at the transcript but don't really want to re-live it.
6 years for a president 3 terms for senate and congress. All that experience has allowed for nothing to get done. You serve you live by the same rules as all of us. Same healthcare and no life time salary.
There are valid arguments for and against.
Eliminating career entrenched politicians at the Local, State, and Federal level would be a good thing in a many instances.
I have worked directly with a few of them. Some are as you say. Others are classic empty suits that perhaps at some point in their life had "it" but as the years went by, they were clearly retired in place.
