Jerome Powell the other day said that there can be two reserve currencies in the world. Boy are we in trouble!

Digital means the government can turn your money on and off on a whim if they don't like what you say or do. Look what they just did in Canada and we're not even full digital. Very scary.

But they were trying to prevent centralized banks / services from transactions with certain wallets.

That is significantly easier to accomplish outside of crypto, and you really can't do that with crypto because those bank's can not prevent wallet to wallet transactions and converting it to other assets on decentralized exchanges.

You are correct. My bad. Congress is responsible for out of control spending. Trump tried to reign it in but the threat of a government shut down (which of course would be blamed on Trump by the left-wing media) kicked that can down the road.

National debt increased 7 trillion under Trump. His fiscal policy was reckless like every other politician.

I have absolutely no issue with union workers, but why are we differentiating them from non-union for an incentive? Do we assume a non-union shop automatically has inferior wages and benefits?
Because unions do have higher salaries and better benefits than non-unions. The diminishing middle class can be directly attributed to the diminishing membership of union workers especially in traditional union jobs in factories, cars, steel etc. this was the backbone of the country.

Any incentive to go buy electric is good for me. My next vehicle will be electric. And I can’t wait.

About 10% of the infrastructure bill will actually go to infrastructure. The other 90%, pork and waste.
Tom I have not seen you in LOTS much you are sort of new to this board but I have already debunked this in a thread awhile ago. You clearly are a Trump guy. But as is usually with the cult, the truth doesn’t matter, it’s what the overlord says and his ministers of propaganda say is the truth.

Spending under Obama increased by an average of 3.6% per year even including spending related to fighting the recession.

Spending under Trump increased by 5.1% per year excluding the impact from the pandemic.
Add in the pandemic year and that goes up to 17% on average.

Trump was not doing anything to curb spending.

Possible, but I do think we will eventually back a digital dollar and push for the USD to be the crypto global reserve currency.

That’s a broad brush with talking points. The question should be, why has union membership declined.? And Why not just offer incentives to those companies with a floor wage rate?

Like you really need an incentive… Lol. Why not direct them at the people who really do?

Personally, I think private unions can be a very good thing, both individually and for the public at large.

From a family of teachers, I think some public unions are a disaster.

No president since Clinton has done anything to curb deficit spending and not increase the debt. And most only care when it's not their side doing it. We see that on here and in the general populace.

He did rebuild the military that Obama decimated and of course in 2020 there was the Covid spending. But every year when the budget deadline loomed, he tried to make cuts as I stated above. The threat of government shut down being blamed on the Republicans always does the trick.

Only $65 billion, or 6.7% of the infrastructure bill will go towards Power Infrastructure, which includes the electrical grid.

Good luck with that.

So the president just signed stuff to avoid being blamed?

Really strong principles right there.

Not sure if that’s true but that is one of the many reasons the infrastructure bill was passed. The electrical grid is to get a major upgrade.

He said 10% goes to infrastructure as a whole. Not just Power infrastructure. His claim was 90% is pork. Just not true.
But also not true that the electrical grid is to get a major upgrade.

In a democratic republic, you have to consider the next election and how your actions will be perceived. Can we at least all agree that spending is the issue and that anyone that supports cutting spending should be commended? And please don’t tell me that the deficits were caused by trumps tax cuts as they actually increased revenue as they usually do. Look it up. It’s the spending that causes the deficits!

Please share where the tax cuts increased revenue.

Obama’s last year revenues were $3.27T and they were $3.71T in Trumps last year or $44B higher. And Trumps tax plan was implemented in 2018 so it had only three years to increase the revenues. Same thing happened with Reagan’s tax cuts where revenues from Carter’s last year to Reagan’s last year almost doubled. Yet the left and the media for years blamed the deficit under Reagan on the tax cuts. A simple analysis of the numbers would show that it was caused by the runaway spending. Same old left-wing strategy, tell a lie enough times and some will believe it.

I think there are like maybe 12 people who did that.

The following is just a data point of one but I can't get it out of my head.

Years ago when Obama was running against McCain I asked the young bartender at the local pizza joint who is she voting for and why.

We knew each other and I said I wasn't looking to argue I was just curious. At the time Obama had about 9 months experience as a US senator before he declared his bid. He had done nothing in Congress and relative to McCain's experience there was a stark difference.

She obliged. Her response went something like:

"I really don't follow that stuff very much but... I don't know.. you know ...I think I'm going to vote for Obama... you know... I kind of think.. change.. you know...change"

I recall thinking they should give a bonus to Obama's campaign manager for that slogan.

I'm fairness, at her age I was pretty clueless about issues myself. I'll take a guess and say some 80 to 90% of the people have no idea what the issues are and just vote on who they like.

I also remember one time when some reporter did a schtick on the street interviewing people and assigning the stances on issues from one candidate to an opposing candidate. The people agreed with the stance on every issue. They had no idea that the stances were from the other candidate.

It was both hilarious and sad at the same time.
I remember that too
I think was either a late night show or maybe it was Jesse waters

And the most important infrastructure we could possibly add did not get one penny. That would be the wall along our southern border to stop the invasion.

Everyone should read the book total power, a Vince Flynn novel written by Kyle Mills. Make you want to get a gun and emergency food. Eye opening of what the world would be like inside 2 weeks
