After This Win, We Control Our Own Destiny

Georgetown is way worse than all the other power conference teams, except for Louisville. "Normal bad" is where teams like Oregon State, Missouri, etc. are.

Other bubble teams are gonna do what they’re gonna do. We are ahead of all that. Just keep winning!
According to you I guess? Before last night we were 50/50 in/out in mock brackets…. If we get blown out the next two games we’ll be on the outside again

None of the other power conferences have two teams rated nearly as bad as DePaul and Georgetown. Here are the KenPom rankings of all power conference teams #100 or worse:

DePaul: 306
-----------------
Louisville: 192
Georgetown: 189
---------------------
Oregon State: 153
Missouri: 147
West Virginia: 141
Georgia Tech: 139
Notre Dame: 136
---------------------
Arkansas: 116
Arizona State: 115
Michigan: 112
Indiana: 107
Stanford: 106
California: 104
USC: 101
Oklahoma State: 100

As you can see, there are a few tiers here. BE has one very bad team and one historically bad team dragging it down. Louisville is the only other power conference team in the same breath. No other conference has two teams this brutal. DePaul alone might be the worst power conference team in history.
Vanderbilt is missing. They probably slot in between DePaul and Louisville in KenPom. They're 229 in NET compared to DePaul at 320 and Louisville at 206.

We are definitely not off the bubble. That implies that we're safely in the field and there is plenty that can happen that would keep us out.

We are in good shape. In a vacuum, winning the two home games and a BET quarterfinal game should be plenty. There would be enough positives on our resume to offset the glaring negatives that exist. You still want other things outside your control to break the right way as well.

Winning one of the next two would go a long, long way towards punching our ticket.

We'd still have to avoid the land mine that is DePaul but adding another Q1 win and another road win gives us more cushion to work with and would all but seal a bid.

The BE features a 20 game schedule againt 16 good teams. Bu nova and sju may be slipping but they were bubble teams a few days ago and could be again with a couple of nice wins.
