All Big East

Kadary over Zuby and ashworth over Peavy for me.

Lots over very old players on there.
What you said.

Kadary got 2nd team only because it is difficult if not impossible to get 3 kids on the first team. I think it is a flip of the coin between him and Zuby.

Ashworth probably dealt with the same thing given Kalk's presence on the first team.

Overall though I think the 1st and 2nd teams are pretty well done and what was expected, and even the 3rd team.

No real surprises on the freshman team as the two kids you expected to be the slam dunks were the unanimous picks.

Eleven of the 16 players on the three teams are seniors or grad students. Two others are freshmen pros. That doesn’t leave much room for a sophomore like Coleman. He has slipped the last few weeks no doubt but I would not write off Coleman. Put some pieces around him and he will be productive. He was on the BE honor role for several consecutive weeks. Hope he is back but it looks highly unlikely.

After yesterday's game, I wondered if McNealy was a top half of first round pick. I realize good college players (Powell, Angel) are not [to be] good pros, but for a guy who came into the season as one-and-done, third team Big East must raise questions. Wonder, too, if Karaban goes late in the second round, or if Ball stays another year.

McNeeley was hurt a lot of the BE season. Probably would have been first team if not for the injuries. I don’t see him as a top half of the first round guy though. Mid to late first for me.

After that really outstanding start, Coleman had an awful end. Also following the game he missed (and hair change, critical key).

Overall he was 2nd in the league in usage and 2nd in shot %. Was top-20 in rebounding percentages, but didn't do anything well enough to merit recognition as we purely a volume guy on a team that had no offense.

He had an offensive rating of just 93 (woof) and shot just .407 from 2PT (85/209), and .267 from 3 (24/90). 1 double-double.

Yes. He was completely different player after missing the game to injury. He was playing at a All-BE level. Whether you think he was effected by the injury, or he got worn down, he got more attention from defenses, felt pressure of the agent/portal, etc, etc.

First 8 BE games
20.6 points - 6.3 rebs - 1.9 steals - 1.8 TOs - 41.5 fg% - 32.4 3fg% - 83.9 ft%

Final 11 BE games
14.4 points - 5.6 rebs - 1.4 steals - 3.1 TOs - 33.0 fg% - 23.2 3fg% -56.5 ft%

Given his age, size, and shooting ability, I'd be shocked if he doesn't end up in the lottery. Granted I haven't studied this year's draft. The "age" factor though plays a big role in the modeling of how NBA teams draft and the projections.

There are a ton of 18 and 19 year old lottery candidates this year. Flagg, Harper, Ace, KJ, Philon, Maluach, Traore, Saraf, Demin, Sorber and Riley are all younger than McNeely. VJ, Asa, Knueppel, and Jase are basically the same age. He’s not that young for this year’s draft.

7 seniors or graduate seniors on the first two teams…

Very surprised Kadary was second team.
Maybe selectors didn't want to pick three from one team.
Similar to women's first team. Would our two selections be among UCONN's first eight? Not even a serious question.
