Angel or Isaiah?

There seems to be a question (on another thread) regarding who will be the more important/better player on this year's team.

What's you opinion?

IW, we need production out of the point. We know Angel will produce.

Both.They both need to be at least 2nd team big east type players or else we don't stand much of a chance.

Two separate questions in my opinion . IW will be the better player but the most important will be whoever can give Angel help up front.

Yeah, we need both to play well. Who is better is personal preference. I remember always hearing people say Walker was better than Dehere.

Clearly IMO Whitehead has the better skill level. And I think he will be the better player.

But Angel is special and he plays a critical part for the team as our only 'known' power player under rim.

For the Hall to have success both must play to their max. If either doesn't it's going to be a very long season.

Both obviously critical for any success, but IW more important because he needs to score, create, and involve ALL of his teammates including Angel. Delgado won't get the ball enough if IW doesn't do his job.

They both give their all..... I.W. has the more all around ability and so, more important.

Isaiah. A little bit unfair to Delgado as I am just kind of penciling him in for 13 and 11 but we've come to expect steady excellence from him. He is the given on the team, while Isaiah is the unknown. College basketball is a guard's game and this team will go as far as Isaiah and Khadeen, who is imo top 3 important if not top 2, can take it.

Play within a team concept and it doesn't matter. Both guys can put up gaudy numbers but if we don't play like a team we won't win games. It's that simple. No one guy is most important. You could have all the skills and God given ability but if you don't play within the concepts of team basketball neither is important and their value is limited. Based on the 1st 20 games last year I believe we can play team basketball. Based on the remaining games, it's hard for me to remember what team basketball looks like again. The entire team has a lot to prove, but we won't win anything because these 2 guys carry us. If we do win it will be because we have guys sharing the ball on offense and playing as a 5 man unit on defense.

For us to be succesful, IW has to have a 1st/2nd team all BE performance type season

I think IW has the better skillset, and is the better player from that standpoint. He'll have the ball in his hands alot, and will need to defend, score form inside and out, and create good scoring chances for his teammates. Delgado may be the more important player. Without him, IW will only getting the ball after the other team scores.

I put a much higher premium on rebounding than most posters. So I will always go with Angel until proven otherwise.
