Another cutting the cord thread

I've never really looked into cutting cable out, but how do people watch the MSG, SNY, and YES? I don't watch a ton of TV but that those are typically my go to channels being a baseball and hockey fan. Are those additional subscriptions?
YouTube TV only offers SNY as a local sports network. MSG and YES are not part of the package.

youtube tv offers some of them i forget which ones. the wbsite will tell you. in philly you get all sports but the union when theyre on CW. benefit of having nbc regional i guess

10 and 2 only works best for games on FS2. FS1 you really need the 11 and 2 setup. ESPN games you should have the setup at 1 and 3. CBSN you're screwed.
If you have kids just have them hold it and then you can direct them to turn and stand there as needed to get the best reception. Once you get it where you need it just tell them to stand there until the game is over.

This will be helpful, thanks.

It wouldn't make sense for you honestly. Regional sports networks aren't really offered outside of a cable or larger streaming service subscription like DirecTV.
This is where I keep getting stuck every time we think about cord-cutting. If I can't get NBC Sports Philadelphia, I can't watch the Phillies and that's not going to work (although it would've been fine the last two nights).

If I can't get NBC Sports Philadelphia,

FUBO has it.

FUBO is perhaps the best sports streaming option.

You can key in your zip code and see if you get it. I live in 17543.

This is really thorough! Looking even at the Pro/basic package, I can't think of anything I'm missing that i have now. In fact, I'd be picking up a few channels I know I don't have now with Fios (silver? Not sure of our tier).

Thanks for the heads up!

If you decide to do the free trial, keep in mind that the user interface is similar to Netflix or Prime. It will not be like cable with channel numbers. It is all icons. It takes a little getting used to.

You can change the order of the channels that appear on the TV by using their website. Doing that allows you to have the channels you watch most in easy reach.

you can record it all, set as favorites, i recommend it 10x over. legally add another user to the account and pay $35 for all sports games regional and national plus a ton of other channels, portable amd usable for mutliple locations. cant be beat

I just did the final leg of cutting the cord and signed up for Verizon's 5G home internet.
Getting 80 meg+ download speeds.

My two cell phone lines and internet are now $50 less per month including a new Google 7 Pro.

Considering we also beat Rutgers today I'd say it was a pretty good day.

I wanted to revisit this. I cut the cord right after NCAAB season ended, and got Fubo for the spring and summer. I had to watch a couple Devils playoff games (TBS) elsewhere, but I got all the Mets I could stand. I would prefer not to miss ANY SHU games, does anyone recommend another streaming service to cover all the bases? Thanks again

FUBO should give you most of the games. That is assuming they will be on Fox sports.

For one's not covered, you can find a service that is offering it and then subscribe for a month or in some cases do the 7-day free trial and then cancel.

For games that weren't covered, I would also check the SHU website and see where it is streaming and then sometimes you can get it on the internet and just connect your laptop to your TV. That is assuming you have a laptop with an HDMI port and a TV has an HDMI input.

As the last resort, you can go to your local sports bar and catch it there.

I specifically picked YouTube TV because it has all the SHU networks. Fox, FS1, FS2, CBS, CBSSN, and all of the ESPNs. The tv schedule hasn’t been released yet to my knowledge but for the past few years, those networks carry all of our games. As far as March Madness is concerned, YTTV carries TBS, TNT, and TruTV so you won’t miss anything there.

The only downside is the only local sports network they carry is SNY. They don’t have YES or MSG. Since I’m not an MLB/NBA/NHL fan, those don’t matter to me, but if you’re a Yankees, Knicks, Nets, Rangers, or Devils fan, you will need those channels. YTTV is a great product. I highly recommend it.

No SNY anymore either. Unless they brought it back and I missed it.

Really? News to me. I can’t remember the last time I tried to watch a baseball game. Either way, thanks for the heads up as @donnie_baseball seems to need the Mets games.

If that’s the case, does SNY offer a streaming service where you could subscribe to YTTV and then pay a subscription to SNY during the baseball season? It’s a simple Google but I’m on the run at the moment, lol.
