Good showing . Seeds aren’t great ofc, but getting back to 5/11 programs in is good after last year’s circus.
Reminder big east won 2 postseason events last seasonGood showing . Seeds aren’t great ofc, but getting back to 5/11 programs in is good after last year’s circus.
5 should be the minimum for BE. 3 was a slap in the face.Good showing . Seeds aren’t great ofc, but getting back to 5/11 programs in is good after last year’s circus.
Can't complain getting 5 teams in. Was the conference that much better this year that only 3 got in last year? I get bid stealers but this is all about NET.Good showing . Seeds aren’t great ofc, but getting back to 5/11 programs in is good after last year’s circus.
Bid stealers IMO. One of the BE teams that got left out last year had a terrific NET. It wasn’t us - it was either Prov or SJUCan't complain getting 5 teams in. Was the conference that much better this year that only 3 got in last year? I get bid stealers but this is all about NET.

Definitely better teams but better for the conference to get more in, then we what happens. Can't complain getting 5 teams in. Was the conference that much better this year that only 3 got in last year? I get bid stealers but this is all about NET.
Drake a sleeper to me here...can the D2 kids and coach play up to the P4 types under the lights. St. John's not as deep at UConn was last year. St. John's can't shoot the 3.The BE was much better last year from top to bottom so it is strange to me that 5 got in. Let's see how well or poorly the teams do that got in. Frankly I don't feel St Johns is in the same class as UConn was last year. I expect them to bomb against good competition in the dance.
It’s all relative to the larger, national scene and then the subjectivity of the room for the final spots. The BE was much better last year from top to bottom so it is strange to me that 5 got in. True, but in the final seed list it was Oklahoma then SHU in the first four out after the five bid stealers.Bid stealers IMO. One of the BE teams that got left out last year had a terrific NET. It wasn’t us - it was either Prov or SJU
Also St. Johns routinely plays defense by violating the cylinder rule. The BE refs let them get away with that but if games are called more tightly in that regard in the NCAA Tournament, then the Johnnies could have big problems. The BE was much better last year from top to bottom so it is strange to me that 5 got in. Right. The NET wasn’t the be all end all. Committee seems to pick and choose and weigh a number of factors.True, but in the final seed list it was Oklahoma then SHU in the first four out after the five bid stealers.
He's not wrong. Glad we got 5 this year, but there are lots of reasons on and off the court this seems to make sense.Pitino on McAfee today again pushing the Big East to expand or combine with ACC. Also said the SEC is dominant because they have great veteran coaches while Big East has a lot of young coaches.
It's the same issue that every hard nosed, aggressive team has faced in the past with the NCAA T. Whether that be Gtown back in the day, Huggins teams at Cincy or WVU, Sampson's current Houston teams, some of Pitino's Louisville teams. The Zebra-crew assigned can always impact those types of teams, one way or the other. Also St. Johns routinely plays defense by violating the cylinder rule.
