Chris Holtmann to Tennessee?

The rest of the teams in the Big East would benefit from Holtmann taking the Tennessee job. Butler is very fortunate to have him after the Brandon Miller flop.

I think it would be bad for the conference. Alas, he could well go as he is the lowest-paid head coach in the Big East. Talk about moving up fast.

It's not hard when you fired a coach making $1.6 million and that total, while low in the SEC, is about double what a guy like Holtmann makes.

Why are we making Chris Holtmann into Coach K after 1 season when he had such a talented team?

Well they did go from 14-17, 4-14 last year to 23-11, 12-6 this year.

The BE conference is going to become a feeding ground for its successful young coaches to move into the power 5 conferences as the BE is no longer a destination for coaches but a stepping stone.

Absolutely right. Our league is like the A-10 right now.

A stepping stone for the power conferences.

To make a comeback we need a lot more players- especially big men- who are better..

The Big East has always been a stepping stone for coaches. In this century, very rarely has an established name come to the Big East.
