Conservatives...

And landscaping fixes the safety?

I’m not asking you to feel sorry for him, but yes… being a celebrity and worth a couple hundred million increases your risk profile. You don't necessarily want people to be able to see what your children are doing and when you are in and out of your home so easily.

Anyone here who says they wouldn't have requested the same thing at minimum is lying.
A big wall or fence definitely makes things safer. You don't think it does?

Nobody is arguing that what we wants to do is wrong, but it's definitely the I'm all for liberal things just "not in my backyard" approach. You say this will not be low income housing, but everything I read suggests it is. Also why would Curry write in his letter about "not in my backyard" when it comes to moderate to high income level housing? That doesn't make sense.

No one suggested a wall. All they are asking for is privacy so people cant watch them.

But if you were being reasonable about it you would see it has nothing to do with that and he just doesn't want people watching him and his family.

Nope. It was at the Dec 15th town meeting. They were discussing the zoning of the property and it was zoned at 10 units per acre instead of 20. At 20 they would have had 6 very low / low units. Zoning to 10 per acre and they realized there won't be any which is why the Curry noted that it does not contribute to the numbers in the letter.

Because it had nothing to do with the people. It just had to do with people being able to watch them.
They noted right above the "NIMBY" comment that these units would not be low income... so clearly they were not concerned about them being low income.

Wall, fence, call it whatever you want.

Sorry read the report in the Atherton saying how the couple was pleased at the latest news that they would not include low income housing. That's the very definition of not in my backyard.

You just don't like the guy.

They could have joined in the other residents to fight against all of the proposals. They didn't and even offered an alternative solution to their privacy issue.

They just didn't want people staring at them. As would you, and as would anyone here.

My opinion of him means nothing. Plenty of reports out there the Curry’s were happy to hear there wouldn’t be low income housing. I have no problem with that. It would probably bring a few negative impacts one of which would be lowering the home value. Any homeowner should fight that, whether your house is worth 75 million or 75k. Very nice they offered a solution like higher fences, which I’m sure will not have any holes in it which might as well be called a wall.
