That said... Countries around the world will have different results. Some due to cultural differences and some due to different actions. But, just like assuming Spain and Germany were growing faster than the US, it's more a matter of what the virus got to each area and what it looked like when the virus hit a critical mass to start to have exponential growth.
Belarus for example had 94 confirmed cases a week ago. Increasing by more than 20% per day since then and their government is not taking it seriously. No reason to think they will be spared.
Hungry appears low on testing capacity. They are larger than Austria, yet Austria has performed more than 5x the amount of tests. Assuming their mortality rates should be similar, it would appear Hungary is under reported right now.
Those countries and other with low numbers have the benefit of seeing what is happening in America so they could take it more seriously than thinking it was just a problem with certain countries... I'm hopeful the citizens there all take it seriously.
