Seton Hall hosts Creighton in South Orange. No score in the top
of the 2nd. Chris Morris gets the nod as the starter. Hall needs to win 2 or 3
of the remaining six to stay in 4th place and qualify for the BE Tournament.

They need to show Creighton they can play with them as they are on a collision course
for that first game of the Tournament in Omaha.

Hard to believe they are playing after all that rain. Field in good condition. Game available
to watch on Foxsports Go.

Now 1-1 in the top of the 9th. Pirates ran themselves out of a possible go ahead run in the bottom of the 8th.

Our batters go down looking quite often. Creighton just took the lead in the top of the ninth on a lead-off homer.

Going to the bottom of the 9th down 2-1.

Yes the SHU batters have already K d 11 times today.

Pirates lose 2-1. They strikeout with bases loaded to end game.

A major problem is that most of the guys swing the same way in every situation. You just can't do that. Sometimes you have to frame an outside pitch and cut down on the swing. Tough loss. They could have had this one.

Paduslenko gets up with men on the corners and just one out--and bunts????? Seton Hall playing to lose?
The safety squeeze with men on first and third was don zimmers favorite play. But what does he know. It's actually a great call if the bunt goes down the first base line. Tough for the first baseman or third baseman to charge early because that allows the runners to get great jumps.

Power hitter. Sac fly or swing for fences is best play. Make contact. Drive in runs.

We play too conservatively.

Catholic, that's the Shepherd way, always has been; tuff loss, but they do compete[also the Shepherd way].
Let's see what happens 2morro

1-0 ball game, pitchers dual, you take what Zim calls the easiest RBI in baseball. Pat Murphy did the same thing with his power bats at Notre Dame and Arizona State all of the time. I love the call by Shep but to equate it to basketball sometimes guys don't convert lay ups.
