Strengths:
Soffer has broad shoulders, solid length, and can score at all three levels, specifically from 3-point range. He is always on balance when releasing his shot and his release is smooth. He moves well without the ball and is a good passer in the half court set.

Weaknesses:
Soffer has a solid frame, but it will be interesting to see how much thicker it gets going forward. In addition, he is just a fair athlete with only a decent amount to bounce and quickness. Quicker defenders can cause issues with him when handling the ball.

Bottom Line:
Soffer doesn't have many physical tools in terms of athleticism, but he is a solid system player with ball skills and smooth jump shot.

His commitment is obviously not surprising as word spread during the Meet & Greet that he was coming. However, until the ink is dry you just never know.

Case in point....Chris Silva told everyone at SHU he was coming. The word got out and that's why sites like 247 who didn't even mention us changed their tune and strongly favored SHU in the end.

Clearly SHU did not want Silva to travel to South Carolina just before he was about to commit but he noted his word was golden and not to worry. Well, we saw how that played out.

Remember, until nearly the last minute Anderson was coming to SHU and Whitehead was going to SJU. In the dirty world of recruiting anything can happen. Although in this case it was near a sure bet Soffer who decommitted from Loyola wasn't being wooed by any other BB power so SHU was sitting pretty.
