The common denominator here is money in politics.

If either part had put up a semi-viable candidate under the age of 70, they would’ve coasted to the White House. Yet they both had no choice but to double down on their octogenarian candidates because a handful of billionaire donors decided that’s what they wanted.

Say what you want about RFK Jr. but at least he’s largely outside of the control of the donor class.

Yes, you still need a gross amount of money to compete in a presidential campaign, which is why he picked a rich VP. He’s still only getting a fraction of the billionaire money that Trump and Biden are.

Unlike the other two he is not afraid to talk campaign finance reform. You’d have a better chance of winning the lotto than either of the major parties allowing that to happen.
