Dem Debate?

kk...I know that's tongue in cheek...one is a rant, the other a tactic. Have you seen any of the 17+ candidates on both sides articulate any kind of over-arching strategy (Sanders and Paul at least have tried a little)? I know it's politics, but that is pretty pathetic. No successful business would ever be run like this.

If CEOs were elected by popular vote, it would be fun to imagine what they would promise.

Thankfully they aren't!!! If employees elected the CEO, they would all vote for the VP of HR:)

Say what you want about Hillary Clinton's performance as Sect of State but there have been two books that came out written by former Secretaries of Defense: Robert Gates and Leon Panetta. Both were critical of President Obama's foreign policy decisions but both praised Hillary Clinton performance.

Snake-give me one specific accomplishment she had while she was Secretary of State.

I do not like Hillary Clinton and I will never vote for her but wow, talk about paranoia.

shu09- My old friend, I am honored that you are always the first one to respond to me most of the time, no matter where I post. Thank you. LOL!

My post was about two books written by the former Secretaries of Defense. I read excerpts from their books & saw them interviewed when the books came out over a year ago. Both were critical of some of the President's foreign policy decisions but praised Hillary. if you want specifics you might want to obtain both books.

Reports are Biden to enter the race in the next 48 hours. Does this signal the FBI email investigation has legs?

No, it just signals that Joe Biden has always wanted to be President.

C'mon Tom you can't be that naïve. Biden is the Dem's plan B.

If nothing is going on behind the scenes with Hillary he has NO chance against her. The whole Bo story sounds nice but after seeing the rest of the Dem cast at the debate, do you think any of them are viable candidates?

I think you read to much into it. As to the debate I didn't watch it. The Mets game was much more important to me.

CBS News reports that Jim Webb may run as an independent. (yawns being stifled)

I still like him though. I'm not a Dem, but admire his steadfastness in not getting caught up in the Bernie Sanders socialist express like the others.

He was a Republican who saw a path to the Senate as a Dem in Virgina... He'd be a pretty middle of the road/conservative Republican and yet he was in the Democratic Primary for President?

2 of the last 5 US Senators from VA have been repubs, fwiw

I'm sure most were watching the Mets go down two zip, but being a Yankee fan I watched most of the debate. The short review? Rubio won; Bush lost; I don't think the poll numbers will change for everyone else; Christie and Cruz had the best one-lines by far. CNBC moderators, especially the chick from Rutgers were abysmal. Unorganized, unprepared and an easy target to get bitch slapped him by the debaters. This was supposed to be a debate about the economy, but we get questions about Trumps "moral authority", Carson's view on gays, Fantasy football, and Rubio's Senate voting record. After Cruz went after the moderators they stumbled around the rest of the night.

The moderators on CNBC were absolutely terrible and wanted a fight instead of a discussion of the issues. Really poor job by CNBC - their questions were appalling and insulting but I'm not surprised. What was surprising was that the RNC actually allowed a debate to be moderated by CNBC.

The candidates actually were the mature ones in the room and the moderators were bood loudly multiple times by the University of Colorado audience - but you won't see much of that in the press today. Very classless on CNBC part and what is worse they seemed to relish their role in trying to make the candidates look bad but it backfired on them and they were exposed.

Rubio did very well and so did Cruz and Christie. Trump and Carson and Bush are bad in these settings. Kasich is still the most qualified but he looks uncomfortable as well in these settings. Rubio might get a boost from this but due to the World Series noone was watching. Watching the WS was probably the better choice.

I was traveling last night so I didn't get to watch. I did set my DVR but after what I have been reading so far, I'm not sure it is worth watching.

Sounds like the moderators were horrendous and the results were in line pretty much with the previous 2 debates.

My hope is that people start to drop out. The crowded stage takes away from any possibility of a decent discussion.

Would really like to see Christie, Paul, Huckabee drop out at a minimum. And of course the four remaining B listers
