Does Sha Know What He’s Doing?

It was about the number of “bid stealers”, and our OOC being garbage without even a remotely decent W and some bad losses. Getting destroyed in the BE tourney by another bubble team didn’t help the cause either, I’m sure.
But that’s the part I don’t get. It’s supposed to be the whole body of work, so last games shouldn’t matter.

Virginia had like 6-7 20+ losses themselves last year.

Its water under the bridge, but that last game shouldn’t be weighted any more than the first 30+ games.

If anything, SHU had a much better January-March than Virginia.

I understand all the reasons why, thanks for explaining it to me like I have no clue.

I’m just pointing out the fact that the committee chair had this quote, which found a way to poke a hole in our UConn win.

I did not make up the fact that he said it.

You know he doesn't have a clue and that he's prone to exaggerate.

The only way last season was in the top 1% of Seton Hall Big East seasons is if it was the best -- and we know it wasn't. Otherwise, top 1% is mathematically impossible.
Maybe we’ve been playing basketball for 700 years and I didn’t know it

Out of conference records last season:
New Mexico - 12-1
San Diego State - 11-2
Nevada - 13-1
Utah State - 12-1
Colorado State - 12-1
Boise State - 9-4

Seton Hall - 7-4

But yeah, keep living in your alternate reality. You really aren't too bright, are you?

The committee chair during the post selection interview he gave, cited reasons like Clingan’s second half injury to devalue the Hall’s best win.

But they didn’t give us credit for missing Kadary for two key losses.

The whole thing didn’t smell right.
All he needed to do was say our NET (67) was lower than St. John's and Providence, not to mention 29 or more spots lower than all six MW teams listed above.

You’re usually a very level poster so I’d love to know what you think we should do. Raising 5M a year is a pipe dream, especially after this year’ fiasco. Would you really trust these guys (Admin & staff) to invest your $ wisely.?Keep in mind the target donors didn’t get rich throwing their $ away.
I don't have a recommended solution to the dilemma. I agree we are not likely raise the kind of money you mention and I also share your view that even if we did raise it we probably wouldn't spend it wisely. I am pessimistic --almost fatalistic-- about our ability to survive in this environment. I think our best course of action long-term is to accept that we will not be able to compete in the Big East (assuming the league continues). Institutionally, I think we are a better match for the MAAC with the likes of Iona, Manhattan, St. Peter's, Fairfield, Marist etc. I realize this is anathema or even heresy to many here. But unpopular though it may be, that's my take. We would certainly not be playing at the Rock in that scenario.

My Gong Show comment was in reference to the suggestion that we hire a coach and if that guy can't produce ASAP we can him and try another guy...who also has to produce ASAP. Who in the name of heaven would want to come coach us under those circumstances.

I have been a Sha fan from the start and felt he did a very good job last year, despite our being snubbed by the NCAA selection apparatus. This year is a whole different story and an undeniable disaster. He has to turn the ship around next year or else his job should be in jeopardy.
