Even a woman can't get away with it

Absurd. People say bad words in the heat of the moment. 99.9% of the time they don’t meant it. We’ve heard guys on an NBA court say worse. Has ESPN ever called out those guys? I guess some people can say those words and keep their jobs and others can’t.

Espn isn't paying the players that is a franchise decision disney pays a league (owners) big money for entertainment viewership and ad sales

Why would such a high moral company fire an analyst for saying a bad word but put out an entertainment product where you hear the players jawing horrible words all night.

It wasn't what she said, it was who she said it to. Calling the wife of the VP of communications for MLB a 'F***ing C*** is probably a career killer for most people who would need to work with their communications department.

Conduct matters regardless of who the target is. A stadium worker being on the receiving end of this is just as much a red flag.

Not saying the conduct doesn't "matter", she just wouldn't be fired if she said it to a stadium worker.
She got fired because she said it to the wrong person.

Still too harsh a response. Being written up, an apology would’ve been a better way to handle it.

Right. That's what I'm saying. It's way overblown for what it was, and only makes sense because of who she said it to.

I doubt this was ESPN say "Oh my pearls, we need to fire this woman" .. It was more likely Gante telling her husband, John Blundell, to call his contacts at ESPN and tell them they are losing favorable access unless Rivera is fired.

Exactly. They aren't this high moral company who doesn't accept such words, where any time they here them they are disgusted and embarrased. Bad words by the Twitter Guys standards are probably said all of the time and even you can hear similar words during the events by the competitors in the games they air. Again nobody nobody got fired here for saying horrible words. You mess with the bull and you get the horns sometimes.
