Trump has rescinded all jobs to law school graduates to join the DOJ. He also is now offering early buyout to 2 million federal workers.

First, rescinding jobs from law school graduates in joining DOJ is awful. These graduates are now out of a job and behind the hiring process of getting a new job at this late juncture. This program recruits top qualified law school grads. This would be a huge loss to prosecutions. What would be the reason for this? I will assume to fill these positions with Trump loyalists. Not the best qualified just Trump yes people.

How can someone evaluate that we need a reduction of a federal workforce of over 2 million people. What analysis was done? This amount of reduction will only result in a quagmire of getting things done at the federal level. This disruption is dangerous to the American people.

The 2 million reduction has Musk written all over it.

We need fewer lawyers, not more. We need fewer government employees, not more. We need fewer lobbyists, not more. We need fewer activist/special interest groups, not more.

Shrinking the size of the federal government is a good thing.

Virtually every business goes through a restructuring, right sizing or reduction in force at some point to adjust to changes in business and the market. Does the Federal government do this? Do they review the relevannce of departments if they have outlived their usefulness?

We can all point to overstaffing and gross inefficiencies in government that would be difficult to contrition the private sector.

Not demeaning government workers but there is no incentive to streamline and reduce headcount when feasible. AI can really jumpstart cost/labor reductions if applied correctly.

I give Josh Shapiro credit for his catchphrase of “Government working at the speed of business “. For example, if the state does not process a permit request in an allotted period, you get refunded for the costs incurred.

Sorry for upsetting you. You obviously knew the info so I asked and I didn’t see a figure when I searched. 250 new hires…what % haven’t taken the bar yet?
Its 250 for DOJ and almost a 1000 throughout all Federal agencies. As far as the bar goes, I would say all of them have not taken it since they have not graduated law school yet. They take the bar exam in the summer.
