It’s absolutely crazy to me that such highly thought of 2nd,3rd and 4th year players could look like they never played organized basketball before. I don’t want to hear about new environment or whatever else. It’s basketball, not rocket science. Something they’ve supposedly been playing for 15+ years.

Something like 85 percent of the offense gone. And we head to Hofstra to play against a very good coach in Speedy Claxton on Wednesday.

Our former guard Jaquan Sanders, now at Hofstra, just lit up Iona for 24.

Can't win games with defense alone. Need some offense. Where is it coming from?
Sanders is averaging 19 ppg, shooting 47% from 3 in 36 mpg.Think he made the right move?If he keeps this up we have every right to coitize Sha's management of him.Maybe we'll take him back next year for $1M+!!

Sanders possesses a skill this team badly needs in shooting. Unfortunately, he doesn't posses the only skill that Sha truly values and that is defensive acumen.

You guys should start a Jaquan Sanders thread.

It’s not like we have 6,000 threads on players who left that posters think would be stars on this team.

This one would be different, of course.

It used to be you won with coaching and talent but there is a new component to winning and now you win with coaching and talent and a significant war chest making acquiring talent a significant challenge for us.

You foul a 3-point shooter, then throw the ball away and blow a 4-point lead with 16 seconds left.

Reminded me of DePaul at the BET.
That was not a foul. There was absolutely no contact on the play. The shooter simply fell down and suckered the ref on the call.

I gave up hope last March when we didnt get in. What is the best that we can do, in all seriousness, not just this year but in any year moving forward? 11-9, 12-8? Last year’s team was the last chance. There’s just no way that’s happening and even if it does, what does that get us an 11 seed, in Dayton? Yippee, like what’s the point? Just relegate yourself to the A-10, or whatever Mid-Major, at least that way you’ll be more competitive and have more chances to make the tourny, I guess.

It doesn’t matter. We wouldn’t be able to get Sanders the ball in shooting position anyway. 🤣

The number of times the shot lock was winding down while we fumbled around the perimeter was absurd.
Same as last year, minus a 1st Team All BE player to mask the ineptitude. If Sha doesn’t adapt and speed this crap up, we will be in the basement before the calendar flips to December.

I wrote the same exact thing after this season. If 13 wins in the Big East makes you a bubble team we’re screwed. Some years you get left out and then when you do get in you get a terrible draw.

Only way to avoid that is be highly ranked in the pre season and play solid all year. But with NIL will SHU ever be highly ranked in the preseason again?

What you conveniently leave out is the poor non-conference showing last year. That's why we were a bubble team and on the wrong side of the bubble after the bid thieves finished looting the bubble.

It's an uphill climb when you lose to sub .500 teams (RU & USC) and your best OOC win is an 8-24 team that didn't win after January 1.
