Maybe a few more car washes and bake sales and we’ll get to the top

What world are you living inWe can absolutely be competitive and get what we need and more but things MUST change! We need to become leaders, not followers and certainly not spectators. We cannot keep doing the same thing we’ve always done, which wasn’t working to begin with, and expecting different results. Hopefully Msgr. Riley wants something other than status quo!
Reality. What world are you living in
I see it the other way. The university keeps prodding at the small potatoes and can’t break thru with the big guys.. where’s Samuel Dalembert, Adrian Griffin, Andre Barret, Mo Vaughn, Craig Biggio, etc etc etc. did they all make anonymous donations?Reality.
The university continues to cater to the big money people. Those small donations add up and help attract others as well. You can reach out to both and be successful but we only reach out to one side.
If you always do what you’ve always done you’ll always get what you always got.
Very sensible take. You have SOME nerve posting such a reasonable thought. It’s early and idk if anyone here has turned over a team either in sports or business or whether, but it takes time to reach good efficiency and effectiveness. The hope was the individual talent could’ve bailed us out against inferior teams but nope.
Either way we need to change what we are doing! There is absolutely no reason we cannot compete at the highest level if we do things right!I see it the other way. We are getting NOWHERE close to Alabama, Texas, Duke, UNC, and anybody else by doing what we’re doing and there’s basically nothing we can do.
Pretty convenient that Alabama has become a top 10 program in basketball since NIL huh.
The NCAA needs a complete overhaul of its divisions, it’s the only chance.
Well other than not having a comparable donor base, it sounds good!Either way we need to change what we are doing! There is absolutely no reason we cannot compete at the highest level if we do things right!
Apparently still working on Kurtz, the CEO, of CrowdStrike. His net worth 3x that of Repole, Vitamin Water guy and Pitino buddy.I see it the other way. How do we make a good friend of his head coach? I'm being facetious, I think.Apparently still working on Kurtz, the CEO, of CrowdStrike. His net worth 3x that of Repole, Vitamin Water guy and Pitino buddy.
University will come first with Kurtz, God willing he gives. But he loves race cars more than hoops, and unlike Repole his good friend is not the head coach like Pitino.
We still talking about Seton Hall? lolObviously need to keep fighting for more NIL but we really need to decide to be a leader in revenue-sharing right from the jump next Summer. Don't wait for things to get ironed out by the NCAA or to take guidance from the BE or lawmakers or wait to see what other schools do. That's what we always do. It becomes legal July 2025. Be an early adopter and spend what it takes to get and keep talent.
Obviously we don't have huge revenue streams but we also don't have a football team to pay. Share as much revenue as we can and find other avenues to pay for the things the revenue currently pays for. Find donors who may be unwilling to donate to NIL but may be OK with donating for coaching salaries or travel expenses. Take out loans or find other streams of revenue to pay Sha's salary, then use the revenue saved to pay players. Taking out a $5 Million loan to pay players may be an investment that pays for itself in time.
Otherwise revenue sharing will just be another way for us to fall behind financially. Take a chance, be proactive and innovative.
I like your aggressive ideas . Selling sweaters, Christmas ornaments etc. is not going to cut it if you really want to compete within our own conference let alone the other power conferences .Obviously need to keep fighting for more NIL but we really need to decide to be a leader in revenue-sharing right from the jump next Summer. We can't even seem to sell a few hats - lol. Gotta find other ways to get this done.I like your aggressive ideas . Selling sweaters, Christmas ornaments etc. is not going to cut it if you really want to compete within our own conference let alone the other power conferences .
