Fight at the end?

The last foul was obvious and should have been called. Sju was playing isaiah rough all game. That is what I would gave done too. And isaiah handled it poorly all game. Till he won the game.

Agreed. There was a scrum for the ball off of the missed free-throw. IW took the ball out of the hands of a St. John's player and IW clearly had possession of the ball for a second or two. A St. John's player then wrapped his arm just under IW's shoulder in an attempt to wrestle the ball away. The Saint johns player made contact with IW which was clearly a foul. I think some fans believe that the call was controversial because it followed a scrum for the ball.

I wonder if the reverse happened - one of our guys got called reaching in during scrum in that spot and under those circumstances - if those who are so convinced it was a foul would have the same reaction. I'd be willing to bet they wouldn't. Look, I'm happy we got the whistle, as I have stated on other threads (we are long overdue for some good luck in that respect). But that call shouldn't have been made in that spot, whether technically it was a foul or not. And if I was on the other end of it I would have been (and still be going) nuts.

I just wonder if this game was played at St. John's if Seton Hall gets that call?

It was clearly a foul against IW. You can't wrap your arms around someone from behind and not get a foul call. The correct call. And because of Isaiah's strength and determination we win that game at the end. That rebound was huge and we had not been getting those 50/50 balls the entire second half. Another example of IW not having a good game but playing tough D and tough at the end to squeak it out. Great job by him.

Forget the fight - it's over nothing to see here...

I honestly thought all three fouls called in the last 18 seconds were bad.

It was the same crew that "officiated" the Butler game, when we in the stands were practically apoplectic at the terrible timing of calls. Who knows.

I think great refs tend to have the right instincts on calls, when and who, etc.

Bad refs make it a smelly foul dog's breakfast.
