Only ppl that think this are on this boardRichmond is supposed to be a first round pick???
Malachi Brown improved our offensive chemistry in the first half. He has been glued to the bench in the second half as we blew a 13 pt lead. Perplexing, to say the least.
My take also. The backups will struggle against the better teams in the conference, but at least it gives some hope for the future and it's probably a better brand of basketball. Unfortunately, "so far" when you add up the style and skillset of the starters there hasn't been a good flow or chemistry. The coach feels that group of starters offers the best chance to win. Many of us disagree.I’ll take the excitement of the bench in the first half tonight as a win. We have not seen that for most of the season (and sadly none in the 2nd half). Not a smile after the game from any of our guys, which is concerning. Not sure what is going on internally with this team.
Yet Shaheen says on the post game that he‘s trying to get him to play with more energy in practice and hasn’t seen it. I don’t get it, As others have said ball was actually moving with him in and and so was the team. Kadary had 5 turnovers running point, maybe play him off the ball and let Brown run it.When Brown was in with the other subs..the tempo of the game changed in our favor.
We became a step quicker on defense and offense.
He also said he wants him to play at a quicker pace. I don't get that because it looks like his pace is more composed and allows for more motion in the offense?Yet Shaheen says on the post game that he‘s trying to get him to play with more energy in practice and hasn’t seen it. Can’t trust a word sha is saying. It’s all excuses. He lets Dawes run the offense at the end of the first half with his ridiculous dribbling and no pace / tempo. He also said he wants him to play at a quicker pace. Wifey?I told wifey to make dinner at 7 cuz I figured this would be over and we can netflx it,now this delayed dinner
This turned out to be prophetic.Dawes coming in at 4:25 and it's 32-17. Let's see how much of the lead evaporates.
First two possessions: Monmouth scores and Hall turns it over.
He stinks at that too. A into the lane and flips up wild shots.Maybe take some mid range shots / attack the basket when you’re 2-36 from three? There are other ways to get your confidence back
Short answer— no, he is not.Dawes HAS to sit in favor of Brown and Dylan HAS to sit in favor of Coleman.
Are ya listening Sha?
That mid range shot to ice the game was pretty sweet as were his clutch FTs.He stinks at that too. A into the lane and flips up wild shots.
He's a good player and our best player. But your point is well taken. He gets talked about in a way I find mystifying at times.Only ppl that think this are on this board
he gets credit for hitting the shots, but if you look at both those plays:That mid range shot to ice the game was pretty sweet as were his clutch FTs.
at this point nobody on the board thinks hes going to the nba. nobody. people like to pretend the board is still saying thisHe's a good player and our best player. But your point is well taken. He gets talked about in a way I find mystifying at times.
KR shows shades of Ben Simmons to the nba scoutHe's a good player and our best player. But your point is well taken. He gets talked about in a way I find mystifying at times.
Disagree. And the second him and Dawes have a very good game together I’m sure there will be several lining up to tell me how I was wrong to be a bit more cautious about projecting them to be as good as any backcourt in the country.at this point nobody on the board thinks hes going to the nba. nobody. people like to pretend the board is still saying this
nba doesnt have room for a slow guard that cant shoot at all. hes not a matchup advantage in the nba like he is in college.Disagree. The irony of course is I’d love to be wrong. Sign me up tomorrow for that outcome. I just try to be objective with this stuff.
I agree with you. KR has been on the NBA radar since his freshman season because of his combination of size, length, skill and athleticism. I just don’t see him as first round pick and never have, even now when he’s having the best season to date he’s ever had by a long shot. That’s no knock on KR the player. He’s a good college guard with the potential to be a level above that IMO on the collegiate level. I just think the bar for a kid to make the league is so high because those players are so ridiculously good.nba doesnt have room for a slow guard that cant shoot at all. hes not a matchup advantage in the nba like he is in college.
Those are some big ifs. Other than his inability to shoot, he lacks the killer instinct that gets a player lacking a certain skill to the next level. From everything we were told, he was going to step up as a leader this year. His perimeter shooting has gone backwards and his demeanor is the same. He will have games where he takes over and puts the team on his back. Then he will have games where he takes the night off. I don’t see him getting a sniff in the NBA. He doesn’t look like he wants it bad enough.I agree with you. KR has been on the NBA radar since his freshman season because of his combination of size, length, skill and athleticism. But if he strings together some really good games, and especially if him and Dawes do together, bookmark this post. You watch. Me and others who haven’t set those lofty expectations will be told how wrong we are etc.
Spot on. I know it’s a terribly small sample size but Brown is actually the truest point guard on the team in that he moves the ball and thinks pass first. Kadary has real overall skills but not a true point. Al D. Is a fish out of water running point, nothing about it comes natural to him. Can’t trust a word sha is saying. It’s all excuses. He lets Dawes run the offense at the end of the first half with his ridiculous dribbling and no pace / tempo.
Can argue. Ur getting paid nowHe’s getting paid he’s a pro. They all are and he deserves criticism
Coleman is the future and the guys showing it on both ends. Whats the harm in swapping him in for wusu.Dawes HAS to sit in favor of Brown and Dylan HAS to sit in favor of Coleman.
Are ya listening Sha?
NgaNga also got in the game and threw the nice back door pass for the Coleman dunk. He has athleticism the team desperately needs. Have to let him play through mistakes.Browns steal and finish were impressive
BTW NgaNga caused that turnover with his long arms forcing a lollipop pass by the Monmouth inbounder.
Agreed. He got himself in the doghouse when EHE was out and he was forced to play the 5… let the kid get some minutes on the wingNgaNga also got in the game and threw the nice back door pass for the Coleman dunk. He has athleticism the team desperately needs. Have to let him play through mistakes.
