thats what i meant. the opportunity to run away with this game was squandered. they missed shots, we missed layups.
Earlier when Dawes got a steal and had a clear path to the basket that should have been a technical on St Johns
WOW what a run! Great job taking control of the game before the half.
Have to admit I was screaming at the TV for Dawes not to take that 3.

Could have hung our heads but again stayed tough. Wow. What a finish to the half.
Hard to complain about anything with the way that half ended. Still, need to stay focused and handle the press.
Fantastic half. Instead of letting the Johnies back into it, nail the coffin shut the first five minutes of the 2nd half!
I hope we keep up the defensive intensity in the second half. It's working.

That’s the second time in last 2 games we’ve had what should have been called an intentional foul not called. Dre also got creamed on that last rebound by St. John’s….no call. We’re certainly not getting a home whistle.
He had no one between him and the basket. By rule that’s a clear path. Had possession with no one there.
That is ELITE defense. This team has amazing hands. They will compete with anyone as long as we limit turnovers and keep hammering that paint!

I give Everett a lot of credit, didnt hang his head after Sha gave him the business after some weak play.

That’s a good point about Everett. He really turned it around towards the end of the half. Would like to see more of that from him in the second half, especially since fouls will probably be an issue.
Need to get some good play from the bench in the 2nd half. Coleman, Sanders, EHE.
So they closed that half out very strong. They need to cone out the same way. EHE had a rough start to game, but came back., Wusu can make his perimeter shots but they need to get him the ball. Dawes made some key plays to stem the tide.
Watch St. John's press us every play to start the second half. An irate Pitino just called in the full court press from his sick bed.
Totally agree, they have to force more turnovers. I also expect them to feed Soriano.
