Good luck to our kids

Or, God has given us this wonderful planet to live on. All we need to do is treat it well for the short time we are here for those who would be after us and humanity gets to keep it as long as we take care of it.

Not true. The earth will be devoured by a dying sun in around 5 billion years no matter what humans do.

Wasting time, human Resources, capital, energy without a plan will not solve the problem while bankrupting the country. It’s just another political football meant to divide.

“bankrupting the country” speaking of fear mongering...

No, investments in renewable energy will not bankrupt the country. Could actually provide millions of jobs all around the country and be a fairly strong economic boost.

also... why is protecting the environment, reducing pollution, and investing in innovation something that divides us? Why can’t it be something that actually unites us?

I guess it’s a race to see what destroys the earth first?
Humans thinking they can do whatever they want without consequence or a supernova?

$5 on humans.

I do my research and come to conclusions based on that instead of parroting whatever you hear on CNN or Fox News.

Haha. Versus whatever you read on the dark corners of the web?

You've parroted Alex Berenson. That's embarrassing. Have some self awareness.

You’ve parroted fake stuff off Twitter. I’m no fan of any cable news, but I wouldn’t act like your sources are better.

Please prove what I have posted is fake. I'll wait....

Alex Berenson actually does his research and backs up his claims with facts. You should learn from him. One of the heroes during this 17 months of absolute madness.

Lies aren't facts. Hero? What a sad view that is.

When the plan is to just do something without a plan, it’s a recipe for disaster. What’s the plan, what’s the cost, what’s the expected outcome. If you can’t answer those three questions it’s a non starter for me.

Off the top of my head... Ivermectin. study was pulled because it was garbage. You would have known that if you did your own research and didn’t just repeat what was on Twitter.

Case increase in Malta. Spike in Malta was from non citizens. You would have known that if you did your own research and didn’t just repeat what you saw on Twitter.

You posted a tweet from a guy talking about how deaths weren’t up in 2020... except of course as I pointed out that there is a large reporting lag they weren’t factoring in. Something you would have known if you did your own research and didn’t just paste what you saw on Twitter.

There’s actually quite a few here if you look back on some old posts.

It’s just a topic you aren’t going to agree with. Doesn’t really matter what the cost is, you will say it’s too much.
Saying it will bankrupt our country or being a recipe for disaster is just fear mongering.

I read it weeks ago. It's garbage, classic hit piece.

Cite a source that isn't true. Still waiting.

This is a desperate answer, even for you. His "facts" are clearly refuted case by case. I cant help you believe the lies.

There you go again, knowing what I think.

Just curious what happens if the US does everything possible here but the Chinese do nothing. Are we doomed?

There isn’t a plan to debate here and you were already finding objections to it and talking about it bankrupting our country. You’re more transparent than you think.
You keep missing my point. Saying “just something “ is not fiscally responsible.

Like I said, you just don’t agree with the premise. That’s fine. Climate science is not going to be exact as much as we would want it to be. There is no perfect formula that will maintain sea levels and the jet steams to maintain our current climate. We can only watch trends and come up with ways to slow or reverse trends which could be dramatic changes over time.

Some may very well be just trying “something”... but I’d rather try “something” at the end of the first quarter than hope for a Hail Mary at the end.

I’m not asking for a “perfect formula”. I’m asking for a plan, cost and anticipated outcome. We can then debate the merits. I’ve already stated we should be good stewards of the earth.

“Hail Mary at the end”? Who’s fear-mongering??

What gives you the confidence that this science is fact on the impact this will have on the world 10 years from now yet we can't predict the weather and what Mother Nature will do 24 hours prior.

5 day weather forecasts are accurate 90% of the time, 24 hour ones are 95% accurate. If you could predict the stock market 5 days in advance youd be the wealthiest human on Earth.

While nothing is perfect these scientists are providing us with data that can help shape policy that allows the human impact on the planet to be less harmful than what our current trajectory looks like.

Nice talking point but countries like China don’t follow us for anything. It’s a fantasy world.

Not really fantasy. China has been making progress. I don't think they would choose climate over economics, which is why we need to keep working so that the climate goals are in line with the economic goals.

We are actually very good at modeling weather.
Just so happens that when you model something that has a 90% chance of happening - 1 time out of ten, the other thing will happen. That doesn't mean the model was wrong. Just need to understand probabilities.

On climate, read the 1982 report from Exxon. Their 40 year (so where we would be next year) prediction of global temperatures due to carbon emissions is almost exactly correct.

take that 90% for 5 days and now what percentage chance do they have of being right 10, 20, 30 years down the line. .00001?

The models can change in an instant because of so many variables. With the variables that can happen over a 20 10, 20, 30 year period of climat change...the variables are infinite and there's no way a scientist can calculate all of them. That's why this is all BS.
