Seemingly out of the blue. I will be interested to hear about what happened.

Same here...big fan of Haley and interested to see if it was conflict with Trump or something better in her future.

Wasn't out of the blue at all even though some are trying to paint that picture (the implied message for some news organizations is more disarray in the Trump Administration). She hinted at it months ago a number of times and had planned to leave.

She is a doer and getting things done at the UN is next to impossible even though she was very successful. Hope she runs in 2020 but I bet she does for sure in 2024. Would be an awesome POTUS who governed a state successfully in turbulent times. Woman, minority and smart as hell and knows how to balance things and young too. My first choice for the future POTUS. Has disagreed with Trump in the past on some issues and did not endorse him either. Even though they will try and hang the Trump affiliation on her she is her own person.

Her hawkish foreign policy has always concerned me, but she does get things done. I hope and pray Bolton is not the replacement.

I would think she is getting ready to possibly run for President in 2020 if Trump either decides not to run again, or something disasterous happens to Trump. It gives her the freedom to make appearances all around the country. It also allows her to begin to distance herself from Trump, in the event she runs for President.

something better in her future.

That would be my guess.
Those who thing Lindsey Graham will replace Sessions after the mid terms believe she will replace Graham.. Probably makes a lot of sense for an eventual POTUS run for her.

Good point. Hadn’t thought of that.

No way she runs for President in 2020.

IMO, Senator is not an attractive option either. Not enough money and it distances her from the White House and gets her mired in a domestic mess. She also becomes one of a hundred vs right now she is "the woman". I say she stays above the fray and operates where she has been highly successful which is the foreign stage.

She is at a crossroads where she needs to decide if she has to make more money or wishes to stick it out with the salary of public service. She has a bit of debt and not a significant income.

If she decides to go for the money via a talking head deal she has to pick a side and that could be politically damaging. If she goes with Fox and she hurts her standing with the Libs and Dems. Go with CNN or MSNBC and she does the opposite. Also, she becomes just another one of many.

If she has a book in the works that might generate enough cash to allow her to stay on the sidelines for a bit and jump back in at the right time. Secretary of State is a good fit if they can find a path for Pompeo.

Trump lauded her relationships with world leaders. "She knows everybody" or words to that affect were used when they did the little show at the White House. I think there was a reason Trump held that announcement in that manner. I believe he has plans for her.

She has not backed away from complete support of Trump. She said yesterday that "I will be campaigning for this guy".
