and not one sleeper team. too early in this new world to make generalities but it made me wonder if the money and free transfer delete the sleeper field and homoginize the field. it is still good basketball. but my wife is as disinterested in sports as anyone i know. a few years ago when she came downstairs she asked me if st peters won last night. pretty sure the only thing she is certain of in this field is that seton hall isnt playing. the new rules will eliminate the "madness".

So, excellent points. No real Cinderella stories in this Tournament. I guess McNeese St. is the closest. You can absolutely see the talent disparity. When you mix in good coaching its just so tough for the small schools.. Also, the tempo of the Power Conference teams stand out. From a Seton Hall standpoint you can see we need a complete rebuild.

My disdain for how the power football conferences and the ncaa that has severely damaged the greatest tournament, has me doing something, i did not think i could do....

I am rooting HARD for Khadary, Pitino and St Johns. Go Big East.

Funny you mention the lack of madness. I have a couple buddies who've been going to Vegas for years the first week of March Madness. They bet $20 on the money line of every lower seed. Usually the payouts are pretty good when a 15 beats a 2 or a 14 beats a 3. This is the 1st year they didn't do it because you don't have tough seniors from mid majors facing casual freshmen from power conference schools. I don't mind pay for play as much as I thought I would, but the transfer rule is going to kill the game more than the money.

Maybe it gets better when this ridiculous 5th year of eligibility is gone. Although now that everyone sees the huge advantage I think teams with cash will pay for older International and Juco players. Teams with cash who are smart will continue to exploit the stupid rules of the NCAA and rulings from the courts.
