High on Okorafor and Toumi

We haven't seen much, but I've seen enough to feel good about our frontcourt come January. The combination of Okorafor (5) and Toumi (4) will be huge as the season progresses. Toumi should only play at the 4, we can spell Okorafor with Godswill and Gus when necessary.

Agree Okorafor moves well has length and more importantly has a clue on positioning..

Disagree. The offense actually opened up a little yesterday when he entered the game. Our offense is heavily reliant on the pick & roll and so far Gus is the only guy on the roster that actually knows how (or is willing) to set a decent pick.

Has a nice soft touch around the basket and good hands. Is also a good passer and seems to enjoy the game and wants to be aggressive without being mistake prone.

For a kid who missed an entire year and has had his share of injuries Gus is doing ok IMO.

He is crafty and has a plan as to what he wants to do with the ball when he receives the pass.

Was there early opening night and during lay up lines he would actually switch to a backdoor position and work on multiple pivots and releases. He is quite agile for his size and body type. As is Okafor.

When we’re feeling good about these guys after beating Wagner, you know things are bad. If they perform well against VCU, then we have something to work with.

Never forget when Tae Davis dominated Monmouth and how this board reacted. Let’s keep things in check and realize the state of the program. The only way to fix this is by winning and winning big. Overcoming losses against Fordham and Hofstra will be an extremely tall task. Gotta start stacking wins.

After losses to Fordham and Hofstra, we need all the chances we can get. Kenpom has VCU at #35. If we can beat them, the bad losses will continue to haunt us all season, but the bad feelings, at least temporarily, will go away.

Love Gus Bus.

Playing very physical down low setting solid screens up top. Fighting for rebounds with a soft touch around the basket.

When the offense starts to get going I can see him as a real good pick and pop guy. He can stroke it from deep.

Nice addition as a freshman and hope he stays in NJ for a while.

Gus is a freshman and is coming off an injury. I expect that he'll be in better shape come January, and will improve with reps.
