HOW BOUT THEM PIRATES!!

That’s why you miss it on purpose, but it all worked out.

The refs “swallowed the pea” as Raft would implore them to do.
Yea. The smart thing is to miss the FT. Probably didn’t want to call TO and give UConn a chance to set up a play and in the excitement/craziness there was either some miscommunication or he wasn’t directed to miss. Regardless Samuel needs to be a little smarter there.l, especially since Jackson did the exact same thing earlier in the 2nd Half and was called for it.

I’ve been a fan for almost 40 years and a season ticket holder for 32. I can’t remember a player with stronger hands than KC. If he touches the ball it’s his. How many dropped passes have we seen or rebounds bouncing off someone’s hands over the years. Not with KC. And that power dunk brought back memories of Desi.

If I told you before the game we would be out-rebounded 40-32, out-assisted 16-7, that we would shoot 19% from 3, that UConn would shoot 39% from 3 and hit 5 more 3’s than us, and that we would still win the game….I would have told you to lay off the adult beverages!! Unbelievable win!
And the FREE THROW disparity !

That second half was amazing and the defense completely shut down UCONN.I loved the way they started the second half and refused to roll over despite being down 16. Congrats to Shaheen and the team.KC Ndefo was awesome and has infused his teammates with a never quit desire.

I doubt that was the plan for Femi to take the three. He hit the bottom of the rim!
I love Femi but I was screaming for Sha to sub him out for Harris there. We needed another shooter on the floor and a better guy from the line.

If a better shooter was in the game, the shot doesn't go off the bottom of the rim and right to KC. heck it might bounce up high enough off the rim that we don't have a chance for a second shot. LOL

or the 3 might have went giving UConn over 2 seconds to do something crazy and a chance to get pass to half court with no time coming off the clock.

IMO, if we share the ball, and play D like the world depends ion it, we can overcome bad ft shooting, dopey TOs and bad shooting. Like we did last night in the second half.

About the D. Ty's late steals. Two big guys to defend and they didn't kill us. The D by Femi, body to body on possession after possession. And the same by Dawes. (How about SHA 4 ft. on the court cheering on that kind of D as a UConn guy was bringing it up court). And Jamir, he is in the guys grill too, Kadary and his hands and tough rebounding. KC - OMG, the blocks, steals, non stop destruction.

I wasn't buying that this could overcome 20% from three, bad offensive decisions, erratic ft. shooting. But I am all in now.

Totally. In the postgame, Sha was pissed saying they didn't play any D in the first half. Hard to figure how that happens when we are able to play with the intensity we showed in the second half (after a talking to at the half, I'm sure).

If we could more consistently bring that intensity from game start it would really be something.

4 feet on the court? or 4 feet from guarding the guy with the ball. I thought Sha was going to pick his pocket and get an easy layup when he was on the court.

If you followed the board the last 10 years, bad pregame speech.

It was not a Uconn swoon. Rather it was a "FIGHTING PIRATES" Win !!!

Maybe a bit of both.

If you let Connecticut score in transition, we are impressive. If you get back force us to run half courts sets, we are eminently beatable. Credit Holloway with the halftime adjustment.

Connecticut is definitely flawed, but it would have been very easy for Seton Hall to hang its head after the lopsided first half. You guys stayed in and battled back. You led, what, like a minute of that entire game? Unfortunately for us, the last 20 seconds of that minute was what mattered. Those are the kind of losses that really sting and the kind of wins that feel terrific.

The lower first half intensity may have something to do with conserving fouls. KC, Femi and Ty can pick up fouls quickly. Need them on the floor in the second half for max minutes. Doesn’t mean you should get down by 17 though!!

You give us far too much credit.

8 seconds.

Although now it more like 16 hours and 8 seconds. :)
Enjoy it.

I, on the other hand, am just walking around, shaking my head today. That loss just sucked. Not that you’re not capable of beating us, clearly you are, but just how it went down.

Can’t take for granted not having Danny on the bench. UConn will figure it out…too much talent and size.

Incredible defense by Pirates. Held UConn to zero field goals in last 6:55 minutes of game. Sha has team giving it their all. An excellent coach. Too bad NIL is killing our recruiting.

The problem with the last 7 minutes in the first half was that our offense was so bad that UCONN was constantly in transition and to their credit they found the open man for wide open 3s or dunks/layups.

When watching the DVR yesterday it’s clear as day Samuel asking Sha if he should be on the foul lane. Sha says yes. However I’m sure Sha didn’t want him going for the rebound. But also, the UCONN guy clearly hooks his arm and drags him down.

I’m not sure what I have!
Either am I:).

For those of us who are old enough, I was at a presentation a couple of months ago, and the speaker held up a full page Crazy Eddie’s ad from the Daily News from back in the 70s. There were 18 different electronic products that an everyday smartphone can do now.
