A Message from Pirate Blue

AD should be toast. Sha has to have a come to Jesus moment and change shit up.

Such poor leadership. Heads should roll for this after last season’s debacle.

We had from December (after we knew the season was over) to concentrate on talking to agents and getting stuff done and we still completely botched it.
I shared this elsewhere.

Not being an apologist - just calling it like it is. The sustainability of any NIL strategy depends on alignment between three key pillars: (1) Athletics, (2) University Administration, and (3) the Board. It’s a three-legged stool - if one leg is weak, missing, or unclear, the whole structure becomes unstable.

At the moment, it’s not clear whether these groups are aligned, what has actually been funded, or who holds the authority to commit significant future resources.

This is the second or third time you’re posting this, but it seems more obvious with every passing day.

While agree in theory.

If I was the coach or AD. And felt these weren’t aligned in 2024, i would have been vocal to make them more aligned. I would sound the warning alarm.

Be a business owner, be accountable. To sit back and see the situation was bad and not work to correct it is not an excuse even it wasn’t your direct pillar.

The consensus of die hard Hall fans here and everywhere is that irrespective to other pillars, the AD and HC have not done enough.

These excuses are getting so lame.

Love Maui, but a 7-8 place finish not attractive. Losing to Chaminade would be devastating.
Suggestion - hotel stay at Motel 6 and give room rate charged for trip to NIL fund to upgrade semi-pros hotel rooms. 😵‍💫

No Motel 6s on Maui but you can camp in a number of beach parks for free!

Well Willard was vocal about shortcomings at Maryland. It got him to Nova but he left behind a lot of pissed off fans and administrators and a lot of negative commentary from the college hoops world.

Imagine not tweaking out like Willard did and still pissing off a lot of fans. See: Sha.

Haha, Willard was gone by the time he said that publicly, he didn’t say that to actually improve the situation at Maryland, it was to make an excuse to md fans and donors when he bolted.

As a SH fan you should know better. But I hear what you are saying and see where you misunderstood what I was saying.

When i said sound the alarm, its wasn’t to go public with issues or to media, its was to do stuff, get hands dirty to actually solve the issues and plan for future success…go to donors houses, go to businesses, go president, go to the board, say we need to do this…

Exactly how is Shaheen being greedy? The poor guy has to try to work with minimal funding because our administration is clueless and doesn’t want to listen to anyone with a clue on how to fix things!
don't try to respond rationally to this poster. Completely obsessed with trashing one person when a SHU administrative army created this mess. almost to a point where his posts seem personal. I like Batts' troll stance.

even before this, i never understood the idea of travelling somehwere cool like hawaii and watching basketball games instead of experiencing the place the whole time.
I'm almost embarrassed to admit this, but I was staying in Maui during the tournament one year, and I didn't go to it. It's just so overwhelmingly beautiful that I didn't want to spend a minute indoors, never mind hours in a small gym watching basketball. Truth be told, I actually regret not going to at least one game, but that was my mindset at the time.

For what it's worth, if you get a chance to go to Hawaii, and particularly Maui, take it. It was just stunning.

This is the second time that Felt has F'ed up NIL. Why was he ever hired and why is he still the AD? This is going to be two straight yrs of the worst basketball and 3 straight yrs of losing our best players At least we have Hall football to look forward to.

Dan has multiple times that SH has upwards of $6 million to spend. No?
Why not just look at this $5.2 or $6 mil as a balance sheet receivable. Yes it's an asset but we don't have it to disburse to targets until the settlement is finalized. We can argue the semantics all we want over what Halldan was told or how it was interpreted but it appears we're out of luck until the cash is in the bank. I don't understand the New Jersey state restrictions as many more knowledgeable posters have pointed out. Sad situation but we can't believe that Onward Setonia ever had significant contributions to get players in fold regardless of the transfer from the collective to Pirate Blue. Anyone , please correct my thought pattern. From other postings It does appear many other schools are in the same boat. Blame one or blame all we simply don't have accessible funds yet to write checks on.

As soon as we get the $5mil so does everybody else. So it’s back to square one just with an inflated number. Our inflated number will still be significantly lower than everybody else.

Agree, That's how most of us see it
