But unlike what the Patriots did, where they used different balls, each team uses the same basketball. No competitive advantage/disadvantage.
 
Major disadvantage. Anything outside of the norm makes the playing field more level and favors the underdog. Not much different than a torrential downpour which affects a FB game leveling the playing field and thus favoring the weaker team.

Really? Aren't both teams disadvantaged and the game suffers? Do we really want that in the NCAA Tournament?

I meant there’s not an imbalance of disadvantage, though Dan makes a point to the contrary.

No, I don’t want the game to suffer. But I didn’t see it as a way to provide advantage to one team over another.
