20 plus point blowouts?

Is there any reason to believe it will get better? I know, at this point, having the opportunity to defend the NIT Title is way out the window. Just looking for anything positive left to hold on to in regards to this season.

We’ll drag a some teams into the mud - likely Butler or Providence or DePaul at home - and get absolutely blitzed by good teams. We’re already 0-3 and will go 0-8 against the top-4. I think maybe 4-16.

Maybe a hot 3PT shooting game somewhere like we had against VCU and FAU.

Um, yeah what have you been watching?

Big East wins over under….3?

One positive would be to see much more of Felton and much less of DAW. I’d give most of Okorafor’s minutes to Yalden. But those things won’t make a dramatic difference. We may not win more than 2 games and could well lose more than that.

Season almost 1/2 over - a positive.
Several losses will be by less than 20 points - a positive.
Next season (hopefully) will be better - a positive.
This thread - a negative. 😂

Just get to the end of the season. Try to find 4-5 players out of this mess that are worth keeping because it will help to have some level of continuity at a program like SHU. To me that's Coleman, Middleton, Felton, Erheriene, Yalden, and keep them. Coleman is your starting 3 moving forward and could be an All-BE player, Middleton is a great 6th man on a good team, the other 3 are young bench players.

Then you need to pay 2-3 impact starting players to supplement them, a PG, SG, and PF. Forget a deep bench. Move on. But that will take money. The new facility is nice.

He needs to take the rest of this season to evaluate what he has, and who to bring back (or at least attempt to bring back). Forget the “lineup that gives us the best chance to win” line…no matter the lineup, our chances of winning are minimal.

The upperclassman…we know what they offer…or don’t…and several of them aren’t coming back. Their playing time should not be a priority.

Also should have 1 or 2 of his coaches scouting all other players now…to know who to pursue once the season officially ends.

Will he do this? History says no, unfortunately.
But for the betterment of the program going forward he has to do just that…look forward.

Besides, many of these players will soon, if not already frankly, be doing the same thing, looking to pad stats and looking for their next payday

We will win maybe a few. However Sha should be looking to develop a team for next year by playing the freshman and sophs more. They might leave not just because of BIL but because they want playing time.

If I was a freshman or sophomore and on a team with a losing record and not getting playing time to develop I would look for opportunity elsewhere. It's a no brainer.

The disappointing part is every reasonable interval for team development has been a disaster. It doesn't look like it's going to happen.

**Start the season with 4 midmajors: Expect some inconsistent play with a new team but we don't pull the games out. Lose 2 games at the buzzer to midmajors because we can't score 60.

**Time off after Charleston, come back sharp against Monmouth: LOL! Worst home loss in 40+ years.

**Rivalry Game: OK, now we'll be jacked up. Blow a 10-point 2nd half lead and lose again at the buzzer.

**Oh ok, holiday time off for more practice: LOL! Arguably our worst performance of the season at Xavier with the coach telling us guys wouldn't practice.

And while I'll be rooting for a win, I fully expect DePaul to shoot like 11/25 from 3 against us next week. Dreading the SJU and UConn takeovers of The Rock.

It's going from frustration to indifference fast.

I spent more time laughing at my tv screen yesterday than getting upset. Indifference it is.

When Dual panicked with a second left on the shot clock, looked to shoot, then pivoted in mid-air and threw it to nobody out of bounds, I laughed harder than I have in a while. Good stuff.

That was one of the dumbest, unorganized plays you'll ever see. And how many shot clock violations do we get a game? 3-4? It used to be those were rare.

Garwey Dual is the posterchild for this season. Bring in a guy who has measurables (Kadary Richmond-like size), "potential", he's seen as a steal by people who rate players and we're all hopeful, has BE experience, shows some signs of good things, but then is just all over the map both in production and minutes.

His minutes the past 7 games: 9, 8, 24, 27, 34, 22, 26, 7. So 4 averaging 26+, 3 averaging 8. And it's not foul trouble; he committed 1 foul in those 3 games. 🤣🤷‍♂️

But rather than let him struggle and MAYBE gain some confidence and figure out how to play Big East basketball, Sha would rather let Wusu help us get run out of buildings. Coaching malpractice.

I hate to say this, but I was just not a fan of the Dual signing from the day he signed. Never really liked him and I was not very well received with that.

That being said, I really thought Toumi was gonna be “the guy”. He’s as bad as Dual.

Middleton is good. He should play. Dual shows potential. He lacks confidence. Might as well give him time to develop (or not) since we’re not going anywhere. Not sure Prince shows anything to this point but put him out there. Felton has promise. Play him. God’swill needs time. Yalden is near his ceiling but he hustles. He’ll foul out but at least he’s engaged. Other than Coleman, not sure who else needs floor time. The seniors are marginally better perhaps, but they’re not going to win.

the guy cant shoot. he can't make a shot. from anywhere.

Middleton is anything but good to date. Has potential but so do tons of players.

Just wondering....... NIL..... I guess it's based on each player's agreement when they sign, but I was wondering what options we have with players who are on the team this year, but SHA decides he doesn't want them next year, can they just be jettisoned?

Hate to use those terms (jettisoned) with respect to our "student athletes".... but this is the new ugly college sports world we live in. Gone are the days of bleeding blue for SHU.

Imagine what he could be if the offense was designed to get him looks or dare I say, if Sha allowed him to shoot when open? Scotty can knock them down. Why not let him shoot? Oh right…because that would mean we couldn’t put our heads down and dribble hopelessly into traffic, fumble the ball around, and hear the shot clock buzzer sound.

Guys have been jettisoned forever.

It’s known as “having the talk”

Depends on your definition of “good.” Good for UCONN is different than good for us. Perhaps “good enough” to get playing time on this team would be more accurate.

Sha could always decide to cut a player. But whether or not SHU would still have to pay $$ and if that would influence Sha's decision, that's really impossible to answer without seeing the text of these agreements. I would be surprised if any of the players signed agreements more than one-year in length, since they all think they could perform well enough to transfer and make more $$ they don't want to lock themselves in for next year.

Irrelevant, we are in the Big East, who is good enough for the Big East as of now besides Coleman?

Even you and me are "good enough" to get playing time on this team, LOL.
