Jerry C on SHU's postseason

Sorry if I missed it. Who are the other teams in Charleston?
Apparently not announced yet which is somewhat rare -- the fields are often announced during the previous season's event.

Last year the eight representatives came from the A-10 (Dayton), Big 12 (Houston), SEC (LSU), American (North Texas), Big East (St. John's) , CAA (Towson), Pac-12 (Utah) and ACC (Wake Forest).

The field last year was pretty good. You had a top, top level team in Houston. A solid NCAA team in Dayton. A few high major teams that were either on or at least near the bubble. And even a pretty decent mid major in North Texas.

The key to those tournaments is winning a first game. Because if you lose you might end up playing the weaker opponents, where even just a single W might put you in line to play some decent teams. So looking at last year, Dayton got LSU the first game (won), St. John's the second (won) and Houston in the final (lost). St. John's beat North Texas the first game, lost to Dayton in the second, but still ended up with Utah in the third place game, and that win on a neutral site helped their resume.

Whereas Wake lost their first game to Utah, so they got Townson game 2 (not helping anyone) and LSU the third game.

For the record, Towson would have been our best non-conference win last year.

That a win over them is "not helping anyone" is another indictment of our non-conference performance.

Been trying to find out what other teams will be in Charleston. I’m coming up empty as all the searches are saying the teams will be announced this Spring. Dan has always said it’s the one of the best trips he’s taken. Has anyone seen any other teams we could be potentially playing? Might have to pull the trigger this year.
Oklahoma State is in.
