Moving forward the Staff must consider free throw shooting as part of the package that comes along with the recruit.
We played hard and drove the ball to the basket.Unfortunately,we couldn't make the FTs.
Was talking with Roy Williams at his KU Camp years ago. He says - I’ll be right back. He goes and gets a HS coach who was working the camp and had him work with a camper who was awful from the FT line.
Roy said that coach would change the players shooting technique.
Roy didn’t realize the player was one of my twin sons at the camp. He went on to win the camp outstanding FT award and was 80+ % for his hs career.
If you take the time you can correct a players technique and then all he has to do is practice it daily. Not rocket science.

Very tough to pull upsets shooting 2/11 from 3 and 9/21 from the FT line.
It’s like Danny Hurley said in the huddle against us - “they can’t shoot.”
Raftery said Seton Hall feels much more confident going into next year to build a roster. They better value shooting and basketball fundamentals and IQ because this current group doesn’t have it.
Other than the 16 assists and really good fg percentage against an outstanding defensive team.

I agree. The first half had balance with more touches in the paint. If you noticed there came a point where Coleman and Wusu were reluctant to distribute the ball to other teammates. Give SJU credit for tightening it up, but those two not giving up the ball played right into SJU's hands. The Program has moved sway from balls going into the 5's and back out. That stagnates the offense.
Couple times Coleman forced a contested shot in the paint with 2 teammates open under the hoop.

Good point. Besides the missed foul shots another factor contributing to the loss was St.John's made their contested layups & we didn't.

DAW is roundly criticized here, often for good reason, often because he's not what everybody's idea of a solid basketball player is. He was an important piece last year and was asked to outplay his abilities this year, as many others were.
We should remember these words as Dylan moves on after this season.

If you run an offense that gets you fouls… then you better be able to make your shots!!! Stop recruiting kids who can’t make free throws!!!
