This shows how much behind the 8 ball the BE is. The problem is that the BE has to compete with pro sports more than just about any other area and in those areas, college sports is king. When we go to Florida, for instance, front page headlines for the Jax Journal very often is Gator and Seminole sports news. Good luck with that in the NE.
That’s part of it. Take a closer look, the only non P4 school on the list is UCONN

That’s only part of the reason. Take a closer look at the list. The only non P4 school on the list is UCONN. Virtually every school on the list is a state university with gigantic fan bases.

Kemba and Jordan Theodore played on the same AAU team back in the day. I would often go with Derm Player to watch them. Derm introduced me to Jordan's mom and to this day we remain friends.

Boy could that duo dominate games from the backcourt.
Yes had a summer of 1 loss with a 4 guard lineup

1 school in the top 50 for the conference....

But, a boatload more national championships...

And at Louisville...I guess there really is nothing else to do there....$38 million down the drain for one of the worst teams in the country...ouch

How about anybody remembering Bobby Verga played at Duke and St. Rose H.S. Belmar. Saw him play when they played the games at Jimmy Burns and also at Jerry Lynch's !!!!! I may be wrong but he also may have been the tennis coach at the Hall.
Verga was amazing. Averaged 40 per for st rose, my alma mater. So many memories of him at jerry lynchs. Duke played ky in the national semis his sr yr. Verga was sick and didnt play. Duke lost by 4. That set up the famous ky - texas western game. Might not have happened if bob was not sick. At lynchs which was on ocean ave in belmar there was a lot of wind. He was a jump shooter. The backboards were the old metal ones with the holes in them that had a lot of give on bank shots. Verga shot missiles at those backboards from 25 ft and they bounced daintily off the board and banked in. Or he drove, cocked the ball in his right hand and god help anyone in his way - ask mo layton who bob laid out on a very dirty play on one drive. He did become a very good tennis player but not sure if he coached at shu.
