25 years ago Kaday would have been drafted. The game has changed.

The average NBA team had 13.7 three point attempts per game in 2000, that number is now 37.6 per game in the 2025 season. Celtics averaged more than 48 attempts per game. It's unlikely a guard can survive in today's NBA without a three point shot.

25 years ago Kadary would’ve been an undersized Power Forward and on nobodies radar

And the change is not for the better

I mean this with no disrespect. While 25 years ago was a weaker draft. Kenyon Martin was deserving of #1 pick. Aggressive 4/5 paint menace and keeping you honest with a jump shot. It is bad form to compare a generation ago and different style. Kadary was a 5th year guy with great length and reach for position he plays who still can't shoot yet

Good luck to Kadary. Hope he banked some of the Vitamin Water $. Pitino’s pitch included come with me and with ur talent you’ll get drafted.

well Dan the ones who take a pay cut usually dont last in the NBA , the ones who last are the top guys

As someone who grew up just outside of Washington D.C., I can honestly say the only good thing the Wizards have going for them is the big-mouthed, incredible waste of God-given talent known as gilbert arenas is long gone. Talk about someone who had all the talent in the world, had the opportunity to be an all-time great, and wasted it away. Someone who now desperately tries to remain relevant by giving awful Hot Takes on his podcast.

Good luck to Kadary, going to an organization that has no idea what it’s doing.

Play college ball and then take a major cut in pay to play in the NBA.

Something's wrong with this scenario!
Even crazier when you think an NBA season is 82 games vs college 31 (68% longer season not including preseason or playoffs).

Add SOBO1:free room and board , food medical although at SHU free medical for an athlete may not be be a benefit and if you want a free college degree which might come in handy when you flame out in a few years

As a simple statement there is. However it's really an apples to oranges comparison. The only equivalent variable is that's it's basketball.

Kadary's a top 50 college player (arguably top 25-30) out of about 5,000 players. In the NBA he'll be among the bottom 50 of 500 players. A top 50 NBA player will make 15 to 20 times what KR made at SJU last year. A bottom 50 NBA player makes half the league minimum (and that presumes he's rostered long enough to have his contract guaranteed).

Kadary was only a top 50 player in the BE. You must be kidding to think he was a top 50 in the country. You don't watch enough games of other teams in other conferences. There are 50 kids in HS that were given ships this year who are better.

Let me put it to you another way if all 5,000 players were available for the NBA and willing to go KR would not even get a look.
