The thing is that everyone has more to spend now, and the players (and their agents) know it. So I have no doubt that we will have significantly more to spend this year, but others do, too, and it's driving the price of talent upwards, significantly.i have never and will continue to not believe these supposed salaries the players are supposedly making. Initially it was thought that $750K would be needed to retain Coleman. Now it's $1.5M? That's a pretty big difference.
I do think that our spending power is more improved this year relative to other programs, however, and that'll help. But it's not like we went from $1.5 million to $4 million while everyone else is holding static. But our leap should be greater, at least by percentage, than a number of other programs. But definitely not all, or even a majority, I would guess.
None of it means anything if we don't spend it well, and that goes for everyone.
