Recorded prior to this Sunday’s set back to DePaul. Stayed as positive as we could based on the first 10 games, but not sure what will be left in the tank after the next 10.
Do you mind if I ask: Who runs this Rivals account, Tom or Mike? If this was ever said, I missed it.Recorded prior to this Sunday’s set back to DePaul. Stayed as positive as we could based on the first 10 games, but not sure what will be left in the tank after the next 10.
I (Mike) run the rivals account. Tom still uses X occasionally.Do you mind if I ask: Who runs this Rivals account, Tom or Mike? If this was ever said, I missed it.
Thanks for another episode. I know most of the fun's been drained from doing this for now....
That's what I thought - the voice here is definitely more Mike on the podcast. Thanks!I (Mike) run the rivals account. Tom still uses X occasionally.
I hear ya. Really tough spot to be.Is it mid season check in or checkout? An embarrassment and worst SHU team in memory. How can we go into a season without a BE caliber PG and Center?People who manage the athletic program need to be held accountable.
Because they are, they are scared, stupid and lazy. Why does it always seem the school is 5 years behind in putting things into play?
Ouch, I thought we were just uncreative and cheap.Because they are, they are scared, stupid and lazy.
Can’t argue there after the last two games. Regardless of the Gus Bus being in the shop, Godswill has put together two superior performances that has earned him the minutes going forward.Just listened to this. This is greatly appreciated. Some good takes but changing as the season progresses. Gotta go with Godswill over the Gus Bus.
lol… that we do!!Guess you guys have your memorable game from this season.
Unfortunately we’re a fan base and program that knows this too well. We have been there multiple times before.I hear ya. Really tough spot to be.
There are plenty of diehards that I have read posts from throughout the years. The undertone from most of them is leaning towards “check out”.
At this point, you still hear chatter about what can be done differently next year:
Better talent evaluation
Spend the money differently
Creative player contracts
Administration top down engagement changing
Target one or two guys to carry you.
Land a big whale
Change your coaching philosophy to fit the new model.
Etc etc.
All of these ideas are rationale to have hope again for next season.
Whenever we get to our final episode of the season, all this is what we will dive into.
My biggest fear is that if we go through another season like this back to back, more people will come to the realization that NIL / transfer portal rules don’t align with what Seton Hall can do consistently to remain competitive, and the APATHY or disengaging with college basketball with become wide spread amongst the entire fan base.
Then you end up with cavernous arenas and that becomes very difficult to recover from.
I agree large scale apathy will set in if we have another year like this, but I disagree that it will be because I don’t think seton hall can compete in this era. I refuse to believe that. With the correct leadership and correct coaching staff seton hall can be competitive in the BigEast. My biggest fear is that if we go through another season like this back to back, more people will come to the realization that NIL / transfer portal rules don’t align with what Seton Hall can do consistently to remain competitive, and the APATHY or disengaging with college basketball with become wide spread amongst the entire fan base.
