Republicans have more than half the seats up to defend, gotta wonder how they will realign as there is clear schism in the party right now.

Agree only hope for Republicans is if Dems go too far on taxes, green new deal, packing SC etc.Adding PR and DC as states likely makes senate democratic for the foreseeable future. If Biden leaves during first term Harris likely to push far left agenda e.g. eliminate ICE,more stringent gun control,Medicare for all etc.

Why cant the republicans reformat their central narrative for moving forward vs hoping dems go radical on key subject matter?

Because too many are still attached to Trump at the hip. They need to distance themselves from him ASAP. Keep many of his policies, etc. but packaged in a much more positive, leadership way.

I see Dems picking up Toomey's seat in PA. Other possibilities are right wing Trumpsters unseating moderate(!) Republicans in Missouri and Ohio only to lose in Nov. elections a la Richard Luger in Indiana several years ago. Dems holding on to the House in 2022 is a bigger challenge.
