I guess I was wrong about Trump eventually backing off tariffs. Today he threatened Apple with 25% tariffs and Europe with 50% tariffs. This guy is an absolute buffoon who is screwing around with people’s hard earned retirement money. I hope Tim Cook has the balls enough to stand up and not cave.

Apple intends to have all US bound iPhones made in India and China will make the rest of the world’s iPhones. Trump made a deal with India for 10% tariffs. Now he is going I single out one company and charge 25% only to Apple? This is absolute madness.

The economy is strong despite this nonsense. But the effect of tariffs have not gone into effect. They will shortly. Moreover, to single out a single company for tariffs is pure thuggery.

Btw, if Trump didn’t talk about tariffs can you imagine what return you would have on your portfolio. It sure would beat that 3%

And all of the tariffs have not been finalized. I don’t have a crystal ball, but I think at the end of the day, there will be tariffs but selective by country and product segments,

86% of US companies expect a revenue decrease of at least 10%.
51% of which expect a revenue decline of 25% or more.

All while 72% of US companies say costs have gone up, and 77% expect further increases and we have no idea what tariffs will look like tomorrow, in three months, in 6 months etc...
