The loss of multiple transfers seems to be continuing as Frank Martin at South Carolina announced that sophomore forwards Reggie Theus, Jr. , and Demetrius Henry and freshman G/F Shamiek Sheppard will transfer.
As I and others has said many times on this Board, transfers have grown in number to the point where it has become an integral component of running a college basketball program and that means replacing players leaving your program through transfer and adding the transfer pool to your footprint of where you look to add talent. I wish I could remember where I saw it but there was an article in the early fall talking about the growth in the number of transfers and made the observation that it has gained in importance as where to look for talent in the spring signing period as the HS/prep school rank of prospects available is thinned out by the early signing period and that seems to be fairly accurate and may prove to be true for our program.
