The loss of multiple transfers seems to be continuing as Frank Martin at South Carolina announced that sophomore forwards Reggie Theus, Jr. , and Demetrius Henry and freshman G/F Shamiek Sheppard will transfer.

As I and others has said many times on this Board, transfers have grown in number to the point where it has become an integral component of running a college basketball program and that means replacing players leaving your program through transfer and adding the transfer pool to your footprint of where you look to add talent. I wish I could remember where I saw it but there was an article in the early fall talking about the growth in the number of transfers and made the observation that it has gained in importance as where to look for talent in the spring signing period as the HS/prep school rank of prospects available is thinned out by the early signing period and that seems to be fairly accurate and may prove to be true for our program.

Transfers get an extra year of scholarship taken. It is a good place to augment.

having watched Frank Martin operate courtside, I can understand the exodus he faces. Guy is a maniac and seems to have one tone; screaming and more screaming.

How long will Chris Silva stay at USC?
Silva has a world of natural talent. But that talent has not caught up with his game yet.

He can be a very frustrating player to coach. I could definitely see friction between he and Martin down the road.

Only Henry was going to do anything of note in his career at USC. Theus and Sheppard aren't good and were never going to play much there.
